God bless you Precious Stephan what a great video I agree wholeheartedly 100 percent. When there is Divine. Unity the Connection will be Awesome. And know that we don't have the power to change anyone. The greatness of the relationship comes when the two are working together on one accord. The bible says how can two walk together unless the agree. And when God joins the two He has a great purpose for them here on earth. There will not be inconsistencies of any kind because God has blessed and equipped them to weather whatever may come throughout the duration of theirs lives. I love to listen to you when you talk. I touches the very core of my soul. Unity, Balance, Understanding and Respect brings about a great bond. You're able to compromise with no problem. When God seals andd blesses the two Everything Shall be in Perfect Divine Order in the Providing name Of Jesus. Always Love Queen Almeta❤🔥💥😘🙏🏿

I wish I had learned this sooner. I had had a deep connection with someone, but when it didn’t work out. I gave up on that idea. I married someone thinking, maybe real connections grow overtime …. They don’t.!!! it’s been 17 years and it still hasn’t happened. It’s actually gotten miserable because the other person doesn’t understand me and constantly misunderstands who I am. Then I met someone who I had a deep connection with probably six months into knowing them, and we both can tell we had a deep connection… it sucked because we could only stay friends. Both he and I are married….. and sadly we are both married to people who do not like us and don’t understand us. (His wife had gotten to the point where she utterly despised him, wanted, no physical contact or conversation with him ever ! She even mocked him for his romantic efforts to keep the marriage going at women’s Bible study. even though he had grown in his faith and become a better person) Our church kind of fell apart and I ended up losing contact with this friend… mostly because I don’t call men that I’m not married to, unless I have a business relationship that requires it. I now realize that connection wasn’t fake and I should’ve paid attention because now I am in a marriage where I care about the person, but there is no deeper connection and we don’t understand each other and it causes a lot of fights and hurt feelings pretty much constantly for a whole marriage of 17 years. Even my kids that are older, I have now realized the importance of a strong, emotional connection to another person for relationships to be strong and last. Ours has only lasted out of my husband’s sheer determination, and hate of divorce… along with his codependency issues that make it hard for him to want this to end. I stay because I still have agape love for him and I love my kids and I don’t want to have to deal with a divorce because that also affects kids more than people realize . You can choose to love, but it would be easier if you are compatible with the person

The biggest incompatibility is a couple where one is a spendthrift and the other is a saver and investor. This type of marriage often leads to divorce. Also a person who deals with conflicts by showing anger and verbal abuse does not belong with a peaceful person who calmly discusses problems and issues. The Bible tells us to avoid angry 🤬 people.

Sex changes everything and clouds so much, creates bonding where bonds should not be because the person is not right. Waiting until marriage gives the relationship time to build, true intimacy. It allows people to look at each other with eyes wide open, and honestly. After marriage, sex creates that strong bond that allows eyes to be half shut. That bond helps two people with stand the crosses and hardships life brings. Just wanted to add this. I really enjoyed listening to your video. Thanks

Yes indeed, sis. It definitely clouds our judgement when dating/courting. And oh that ungodly bind to someone we’re not married to. Oh my gosh! It is hard to break from that sometimes. Many times. Thank you for stating that. This is by God’s design. We are to wait until marriage to connect this way with our partner. So many of us did await marriage. I’ve been committed to waiting for the past few years. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
@__a547
@__a547 3 жыл бұрын
But if after waiting marriage your beloved is terrible in bed or doesn't like what you like (and won't change about it). You are stuck with someone that won't fulfill your sexual need. And will end up sad and resentful. I think it's better to have sex in order to validate that you are compatible in bed.
@Regina061
@Regina061 3 жыл бұрын
@@__a547 Then you value sex and you value sex-related stuff and maybe you can say it from the beginning of courtship that you have a sex drive and care about sexual experimentation and in your life, sexual compatibility matters. If your partner looks at you disgusted or a little hesitant after you talk about sex or sexual compatibilities then maybe y’all don’t work out. Not everybody cares a lot about sex.
@Jaxmusicgal23
@Jaxmusicgal23 Жыл бұрын
It is so important to wait to have sex until marriage. It doesn’t 100% avoid making bad choices. Both people have to be willing to show their true selves and be honest when answering questions. Otherwise, you are presenting a false person, and you are gonna cause a lot of resentment for the other person. Once they find out, you sold them a lie , and now they have given them selves to you, and they feel stuck. It doesn’t matter why you’re hiding yourself … just be who you are where you’re at… I’ve always been that person and it’s never let me down. Ask my hubby, how pretending to be someone you’re not turns out… he hid his insecurities and acted and agreed on everything we talked about, but he never actually talked about what he believed, and I was a fool for not asking for more details. You need both : abstinence and honesty.

Talking about incompatibility...I've known people whose weight was totally out of control and taking it's toll on their health. I've known people who because of their addictions(smoking or drinking), their life and health was spinning out of control, yet these same people insisted that their significant other be slim, trim and healthy. No one will ever truly have a successful relationship unless they are able to face reality.

Stephan... you don't even realise just how important it is. Your videos. I mean it! 😄 Your work... is literally saving my life. I literally am taking advice from you, situations that would take me years and lifetimes to even go through. It is so heartbreaking yet amazingly beautiful to know that! Honestly, maybe it's just better to stay single and be REALLY patient. REALLY work on myself and THEN get to a relationship. Just got out of a relationship, 4 days ago. We still live together. At the beggining of my relationship 2 years ago I watched your videos because I wanted to make sure that i did things right..... turns out I missed out on some major things.... some things I did not want to accept... But now learned my lesson! At least somehow.... But I want to stay single! It's safer that way! Thank god I had the education before, so that the outcome is that I did not stay longer in this relationship.... because my mind slowly led me to the answer. AND YOUR VIDEOS! 😂

You are 100 percent correct on your points and glad to hear that I'm not crazy. I was told that I needed to let the physical attraction go. Well, a relationship does not work if you don't feel the draw and kept thinking I was superficial. I gave this one man time, but ended up having to end things when the attraction was not happening naturally. Our differences also brought conflict. Worse part he argued with me about these same points, he couldn't see why being incompatible is an issue and its been hard for him to accept that I don't want to be romantically involved. The spiritual aspect was a BIG one as well! I refuse to settle when there are these specific incompatibility issues you are addressing in this video, just to say I have someone, never that.

This video is speaking volumes. I recently started to reconnect with someone after a while and he said he is looking for a woman who is caring and understanding. He mentioned the other day to come and see him and have sex(not so bluntly). I let him know that I am not looking for sex because I am celibate, but, that I am looking for a serious relationship leading into marriage. We would text each other in the morning and speak throughout the day. It has stopped on his end. I am not going to go any further with him.

We were having breakfast at a church. I am an orthodox Jew. He said, "what the f*, got up and walked away. A few weeks later he came back and asked me out to dinner. We got married a few months later. Stand your ground. A man does not need to sample the merchandise.

Man, this is just reiterating my feelings and thoughts. It’s truly unfortunate, being married to someone who I tried to break up with (twice) before we got married (rushingly got married due to military circumstances) because of our incompatibility and now I feel stuck (because I made a commitment) and it hurts knowing that I will hurt him if I were 100% honest with him about how I feel, because I am feeling more free and happy being physically separated from him (new job in another state). Thank you for this video.

This is so on point, sir! I cannot date/court a man who tries to make me become I’m not. It is healthy when he helps me become the woman I’m destined to be. And my commitment to whoever he may be to do the same. Over the years I’ve found myself attempting to use my love for my man as enough to muddle through whatever issues we were having in our relationship. I now know that love is not enough. Specific parameters, foundations and understanding have to be there for a relationship to work. I will say this; there are some of us women who engage with our men intimately even when we’re stressed, upset, under pressure, etc. I never found myself to be able to not connect with my man unless I was seriously sick or in thriving pain. Intimacy is where God connects us and binds us to our partner. Now with wisdom and time I live abstinent while dating/courting knowing that sex is reserved for marriage between a man and his wife in God’s eyes. Not knocking anyone who is intimate before marriage. Many of us have engaged sexually prior to marriage. I’m no one to judge. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. You’re so wise. “In all thy getting, get understanding. For wisdom is the principle thing.” Sorry for paraphrasing Scripture. I believe this is in Proverbs.

Wow, this right up my alley. My husband and I were married for 23 years up till he past away. We were unequally yoked. He was Baptist and I was Pentecostal. Our beliefs were ok in the beginning. After a while it was the issue of the majority about our arguments plus his addictions. He became abusive and ended up hating me by his actions through his words as well. We had 3 sons. They are dealing with the damage as well I left him a few times. He would always talk me into coming back. Let's just say. When he past away. The war was over but the battlefield needed to be cleaned up. After 9 years of his passing still dealing with all the damage that was done. Plus he had 4 affairs plus addicted with prostitutes . He was a Very dominating man. Any one reading this please check all boxes. If anything is in question don't even start a relationship. To me, being compatible does not mean we're the same. It means the personality traits, values, morals, those core things line up in such a way that we have the most important things in common, but our differences help to balance us out. In this way, we complement each other. That's what compatible means to me. And yes, that is very important. To me, we cannot have a true connection unless we're compatible in that way.

I agree that connection is more important than compatibility however, it shouldn’t be ignored during the getting to know you phase of a relationship. We truly had fun time together However I always planned where we eat, where we go. We never been on vacation together. I needed a little more spontaneity, a planner. A man that says put on your best dress we going to the opera, I have tickets for a great show, are you available for a weekend trip. I felt I am better off by myself and doing all these things for myself not hoping he was that guy and he is not. He is a great guy for someone a little slower. I wish him the best. I've seen how the issue of differences in spirituality causes so much conflict. As an African, many people believe that they can practice both their Christian and ancestral beliefs. I’ve been back and forth in this relationship with my partner. I do not feel we’re connected or compatible and I have broken up with him over it. The only time I feel it’s something really there is during sex and lately for me that doesn’t feel like a connection. I’m not perfect I can’t allow myself to feel an emotional bond unless you are showing me the attention the affection the love. I just feel like we aren’t each other’s type. I don’t want to change someone to like the things I do or be the person I want them to be which is why I have ended the relationship in the past. Now we live together and it’s just like we are roommates. It’s definitely not ok to be in a relationship thinking that someone will be what you think they will be later on. I could’ve sworn we talked about this years ago when we first got together but I guess it was forgotten.

Yes! I ignored the red flags of how his family acted and how my now hubby responded to his family…. I attempted to address it because I was a little concerned. But he reassured me. I would never act that ridiculous so he would never snap and yell at me…LOL. Don’t ever believe that!!!! Plus, his whole family is like weirdly codependent …. And when his siblings all get together, they act like they’re all little children again and completely forget I’m there… and it’s almost as if my mother-in-law encourages it. My husband is still reluctant to set boundaries except for basic ones . He will stand up to his mother, but if she pushes too hard, he backs off or just let alone because he doesn’t want to “lose his family.” Mostly because he mentions we had to cut off my narcissistic, controlling family so my kids would have no family. I also think he is attached to them still, and some unhealthy ways. On top of the fact, he acted super godly, and like he was willing to grow and change, and said all the things I needed to hear, while we were at a Christian university, only to basically barely maintain his faith, while looking like he is, since we moved away, and we have to maintain our own growth. I allowed that to cause me to stagnate and stop growing but then I got sick of that and started to grow again but it’s caused a lot of tension in our marriage because I am not the same person so I don’t assuage his vices anymore, and I don’t coddle his codependency and insecurities, but I do love him…. He just thinks that love covers your sins and doesn’t say anything. It’s been hard and I’m not sure where the end is for me but I know my kids are seeing the stark difference between someone who takes what they believe seriously, and someone who just bumbles along in life with no plan seeking the next “fun “thing to do after they put in there 9 to 5.

I wish I heard this before I got in a relationship with two good friends that I wasn't attracted to because it felt like I was messing with my cousin. People look down on the "friend zone" but honestly it needs to be there for reason. Some people just need to stay friends. Also just stopped talking to some guy because he insulted me twice and blamed his language barrier. I'm great with different cultures so I'm pretty understanding. One, okay maybe it was lost in translation. A second one with a detailed paragraph explaining why I should choose a better career and work on improving myself (I'm a new illustrator and spent the last year creating a magnificent portfolio that is getting me jobs). Your English is just fine buddy. I don't care how much money you have, if you are insulting my life choices and not recognizing my hard work then you can get the stepping.

Thank you, Stephan . Best examples fir compatability issues. I couldn't understand why I couldn't quite completely pour into a man I am dating. The examples you gave are all of my issues

I have a hair condition and I thought I couldn’t do any better so I settle with “ a looks challenged man” and I’m not say I’m all gorgeous and all but I’m just saying I settle because I didn’t love myself enough . This grown boy that was older than me 11yrs older was ugly inside and out! I was not attracted to him but he grew on me but took a while. I just want people to know to love yourself more than to settle for just any man.

First Stephan l adore your advice, l at 54 believe that l have never been in love, l don't know what l was pouring Kool aid maybe but after an 18 year relationship 4 children and a failed marriage l truly believe it was attachment not love. I recently had an opportunity to date my childhood friend, he let me all the way into his life, and then one comment he literally blocked me? I am a beautiful woman inside and out, my opinion. I believe he thought he was my only option, he was who l chose. But clearly didn't chose me. It broke my heart. We were friends for 40+ years to cut me out, because he wanted easy breezy, when l asked what he wanted, he said it was too early to tell ? I should have left that day. Thank you for helping me to move on, l miss him but it was the attachment not love.

So here’s my opinion about your whole idea of someone wanting to change a person’s weight. If you don’t love a person while they’re heavy, you don’t deserve her at her fittest. Love is not defined by a person’s weight.

Wow I wish I saw this earlier in my life!!! My ex of 5.5 years - we had 8 out of 9 of these issues. The biggest one being we avoided discussing issues. Well whenever I brought it up, he guilt tripped me into thinking it was the wrong and needy thing to do so I eventually stopped. It was only when speaking to loved ones I realised no, I should bring up issues. And the more we did, the more our incompatibility became highlighted and we finally went our separate ways. I’m 25 now so hopefully I can start afresh and learn from these mistakes. Thank you Stephan

Compatibility is so important. My husband and I are so different. I'm a believer, he says he is but doesn't live like one. I like more organization and him not so much. I'm highly emotive and he's very analytical. It has been a very painful marriage, but I made a covenant and the Lord has told me to remain. Definitely make sure that you're compatible before getting married so that you can share a true mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical connection.
