Become? They're already all about family, are deadly afraid of snitches, demand absolute loyalty, are only thinking about increasing their personal wealth, are afraid of the Mexicans getting in on their business... what more do you need? Oh, right. Accents. Mobster movies have accents. Although I think technically 'speaking like a toddler with brain damage' could count as an accent in some parts of the country. The only thing missing is pizza, which is good because they'd probably ruin that too.

Why is everyone saying this? I'm italian and i can garantee you the word means "battle of no importance between two armies". It's true that there's a character called that way, but it's not the word's meaning, and italians use it without referring to Comedy of Art. Consider that most of italians don't even know the existence of the "clown character" but everyone uses that word to mean "quarrel of no importance"

John Branscombe For Trump transparency means building a see through border wall so border agents don't get hurt when drug dealers throw 60lb bags of drugs over it.
@RAsphalt7 жыл бұрын
I'm learning that a lot of people, you included, will let their standards go into a death spiral of delusion when their core beliefs or something they were very passionate about is challenged by facts or could be challenged by standards that are too high for their belief. You really don't want to know what your president is doing? On second thought, are you saying Hillary had "substance" too? Or are you just a hypocrite.
@johnbranscombe38177 жыл бұрын
RAssphalt Yes I hold core beliefs in some things I expect from others like honesty, decency and integrity in people. When I see so clearly see that most (not all) politicians have none of those qualities, I can make my voting choices accordingly. Candidates that say they will be "fighting for the little guy" and believe in a "fair society" while they are financed by the super-rich and their PACs I am able to realise that they will not be even trying to live up to their promises and I should expect the opposite. I am not even an American, and very glad of that. I could not have voted for either "choices" offered in your One Party system, even if eligible. The same people and PACs routinely hedge their bets and finance both of the nominal parties to ensure a win regardless of the outcome. Then the larger oblivious populace can get all charged up about politics and cheer for their team and trash the other side and bask in the wonderfulness of democracy at work and claim a glorious victory or whine about their tragic loss and come back again for the next election. This reduces politics to the level of a professional sports league, where you cheer for your team, pay a lot for tickets and keep coming back so the stars of the sport can earn the big bucks. Until the average voter can "see through" this con game and carefully select the few politicians available that are the exceptions to this pattern then democracy in the USA will be forever monetized and your country will continue to get the best government that money can buy and deserves, regardless of which party they voted for. I would suggest that letting your "standards go into a death spiral of delusion" is self-revelatory on your part. The last person to ask about how well the president is doing is the president himself or someone he has appointed unless you like terms like "incredible" or "unbelievable" in their true meaning. Your current White House occupant has no credibility nor is he believable so I suppose those may be two things he has said about himself that may be true. When I talked about "transparency", I actually had the boy wonder who is Secretary of Everything He is Clueless About in mind, the "First Son-in-Law".
