I can't see why not. Since posting this video I have used a lot of different things to sanitize and clean the cow's teats. I have heard of people diluting hydrogen peroxide with water for sterilization. I have also heard of people using apple cider vinegar. The best I can tell you is to do what is best for your cow and your situation.

I haven't milked a cow on over 20 years. I find it quite relaxing (when the cow stands still).

Good video! One question - can all those chemicals you put on her to wash and protect get into the milk?
@bigbearhomestead3 жыл бұрын
There really isn't that many "chemicals" The bleach is diluted , and the iodine is put on after the milking is done and by the next milking it is usually rubbed off. Thanks for watching

Thanks but what is the breed of this cow?

She was a Jersey Holstein cross. Thanks for watching.

@@bigbearhomestead nice cow what about her beef quality?
@bigbearhomestead2 жыл бұрын
It would be mostly for ground, Dairy breeds are not sought after for their beef quality, it is all about their milk production and butter fat.

I always have to reassure myself that cows are still healthy if you can see their bones. I ALWAYS freak out. "OHEMGEE THAT POOR BBY I MUST SAVE IT"
@bigbearhomestead10 жыл бұрын
You can see the bones on most Dairy Cows, meat breeds now that is something different.
