I remember taking my mom to see Steve and Eydie later in their career. They were great. We went around back to where the stars walked out to yhe car. Steve went right up to my Mom then went to the president of their fan club of 50 years. He knew her name and he really knew her. She was from Brooklyn. He was a class act. Eydie was in bad pain so she didn't mingle...bad back. Great show though.

I met Steve Lawrence at the crap tables at the Sands in 1968. My wife was a music major and something of a fan Eydie’s stylings. When I told him that he was genuinely impressed that we would come up from LA just to see them. He graciously arranged for my wife to get a chance to meet Eydie. It was a highlight for us and I got the impression they were thrilled to accommodate us. Truly nice folks

@@anairenemartinez165 I believe everything changed with the Jerry Springer show. It was that show that brought vulgar behavior to our homes, and eventually made it acceptable. Since television copy one another, other like shows appeared. After so many decades we have become numb to that crass, tasteless conduct that essentially anything goes.

Steve and Eydie were a pair without compare. Beyond their talent, this - in 1976 and beyond, up till about when the Kimmels and Stewarts and Colberts started spreading their filth -- was the era to watch in the wee hours. Back when men wore suits or sport coats and slacks. Back when women wore dresses and more modest clothing. Back when discussion was witty, relevant, and classy. I stopped watching late night talk shows 30 years ago, even when Tom Snyder was on. Why? Complete crap, that's why. Keep politics out of entertainment, and the idiots might get a clue.

This did NOT air in 1976. At 17:31, you see ME in the audience and that was when I worked at NBC between 1979-1982. Again, that date is wrong. "Hallelujah" (Hebrew: הללויה) was the winning song of the Eurovision Song Contest 1979, performed in Hebrew by Milk and Honey, including Gali Atari, for Israel.[1] History The song was originally submitted by the composer Kobi Oshrat for the national Israeli selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 1978, but was rejected as “the selection committee did not think ‘Hallelujah’ was strong enough.“ It was also rejected by song festivals in Chile and Japan. It was, however, accepted for the national Israeli selection for the 1979 contest, where it was intended to be performed by the band Hakol Over Habibi.
