Jim i cant tell you how much i like your style. When i saw your Cohort video, i went and saw the accomplice, and absolutely fell in love. I thought i was gonna wait several months for you to show the accomplice! Just 2 minutes in, and i am absolutely thrilled ! This knife has become my absolute grail knife

Jim that is an absolute beautiful knife !!!!!!! I have to say that this is one of the few occasions that when someone says the fit and finish are perfect you can actually see it in the video -amazing!

Just picked up an Accomplice with black timascus handles and pivot collars, with polished zirconium bolsters and pocket clip... it's simply stunning, what a knife and what a knife maker! GREAT video btw! Love your reviews Jim!

Beautiful knives. Because of the awesome fit and finish, in addition to the amazing materials used on them, they look like they would cost a whole lot more than they actually do. Thanks for another great video, Jim.

Awesome workmanship . Jim you have proved the power of the internet once again , from a 3 month wait to 20 months after one "Jim Skelton review) , amazing . I love that you actually EDC your prizes , and drive your Hellcat , rather than locking them away .Keep up the good work and enjoy your new knife .

great video jim. have you seen the custom knife factory gratch I think that would be a good review to do I know it's a production sort of inexpensive knife but I have heard of people saying they like it more than their $2,000 custom... it sort of reminds me of The Horizon D

Wildly exciting and beautiful knife. But 20 plus months to two years is too long of a wait. Doubt I'll be able tomafford a secondary market knife.
@JimSkeltonKnives9 жыл бұрын
+Peter Viceroy Any maker that you'd want a knife from either has closed books or has a waitlist running 2-5 years. Unfortunately, that's just the way it is with handmade knives, they can only make so many and so fast. I am on some makers' books 6 years out.

Ordered with Steve perhaps a week after you did your Cohort video and it was already 16 mos. But I am rewarding myself with an Accomplice as a sort of personal gift - to commemorate surviving my brain tumor. Sure, under normal circumstances, I can't see spending this much on a knife, but this will be special. No I won't take it camping. No I won't put in a pocket with my keys. But yes I'll use it for the sort of suburban life I live as a college professor. The meaning of it increases for me because I have gotten to know what nice people the Skiffs are. It will mean more because he is such a master craftsman. It will mean more because I can work with him to create what I want - Benchmade doesn't offer that service. And for what it's worth, I simply do not understand people who call a guy out for a collection of, well anything. It's his money. He buys watches or expensive shoes, or has four carefully restored muscle cars. I know people who are shocked if they know you spent more than $20 on a knife. Others refuse to go over $100. For others, the limit is $200. Who is right? Why does anyone care? I haven't checked. Does an expensive watch collector have a constant stream of critics obsessed with how much he spends on a watch? I go to a museum knowing I can never own a Dali and even if I could, the museum would never sell one to me. But I still go and enjoy looking at them. I will probably never see another one in my life. If I got to go to see the collection of a private collector, should I refuse or criticize the owner for spending a fortune on a piece of canvas with some paint spread over it? Jim Skelon shows me finely crafted works of functional art that I will never see again in my life. I find it really interesting. And even after two years, I don't understand why people keep beating this same tired drum. Somewhere, a guy is paying $100 for a bottle of wine he's just gonna drink. I wouldn't ever do that. So what?
@JimSkeltonKnives9 жыл бұрын
+Bob Jordan Thanks Bob, I appreciate that. Congrats on beating the brain tumor!! What a horrible ordeal, I'm sure that was not easy on you or your family, but glad to hear you made it through!

+Jim Skelton I appreciate the kind words. BTW: My wife calls you "Jim Balls-to-the-Wall Skelton." She's amused by the way I watch the videos of makers I like (Richard Rogers, Kirby Lambert, David Clark) over and over. Doesn't understand why, but is amused....

Hey Jim could you answer a quick question. I just got another strider sng, but for cheap because some idiot decided to try and nightmare grind it himself. Do you know anyone who does strider blade reprofiling or would be able to make me a whole new blade? Possibly even make me a nightmare grind blade?

I love all your reviews Jim (that's why I subscribed) - but I have a question. I know you're talking about knife 'collecting' as opposed to knife 'using' but as a rule there are cut tests, lock tests, weight, blade steel and so on. As knives, they're supposed to be able to do a job (cutting), otherwise they are little more than jewellery. For us non-millionaires out here, would you be able to to a 'normal' knife review on one of your beautiful knives. Making tent-pegs, carving, chopping and (dare I say it?) ease of sharpening? Thanks for the dreams Jim, respect to you.
@user-tf6rf3tt6t9 жыл бұрын
you'd be better off finding that on another channel. that's just simply not what Jim does. obviously these knives are functional. But im Jim's case (and for many othere) they're not knives being used for that kind of thing. More for general cutting things.
@sputumtube9 жыл бұрын
***** Fully understand your point Kevin and thanks for responding. You say (quote) "they're not knives being used for that kind of thing". If they're not used for cutting then what use are they other than ornamental? In the same way a Rolex will tell the time just like a Timex, they both need to be 'fit for purpose' surely?
@JimSkeltonKnives9 жыл бұрын
+paul greenwood I use them for basic cutting tasks. These are not bushcraft knives, and won;t be used as such. I'm not an outdoorsman, hunter, fisherman or anything like that. Very suburban life, so they all see daily use, but light use. I have never, nor will I ever chop or make tent pegs LOL. I have zero interest in that sort of thing. If I did, a fixed blade is what I would rely on primarily.
@user-tf6rf3tt6t9 жыл бұрын
paul greenwood what i meant was making tent stakes and things of that nature. Jim Skelton and other people that buy these kind of knives use them for the most basic of cutting tasks, if at all. Plenty of people buy them simply as a show piece. If you were to buy a knife like this, you can use it however you choose, but most people wouldn't use them for the tasks you ask Jim to perform earlier.

@JimSkeltonKnives9 жыл бұрын
+PowerMadHeadBanger What, linerlocks? LOL, nothing to worry about. Michael Walker (who designed the linerlock as well as a dozen other lock systems) hasn't designed anything that has failed yet. Linerlocks and framelocks are the norm, and exist on so many knives, its crazy. If it were unreliable, you'd see something else implemented. The "Triad Lock" is simply an over designed backlock really. Solid and true, but not revolutionary by any means.

its a beautiful knife just wished he would have hidden the screws that would have brought it together better
@JimSkeltonKnives9 жыл бұрын
+tyler macari Keep in mind that this is an extremely laborious and time consuming option. You could almost build an entire knife in the time it takes just to make the keyhole system and fit everything. The few (very few) makers who even do this often charge $200-$300 for this option. I doubt it will ever become commonplace, and should never be expected in this low of a price range.
@Tyler_Macari9 жыл бұрын
+Jim Skelton oh of course, it is a truly amazing knife and I found out after commenting that this was not done by machining or water jet. But like you said you would pay double for this knife and if that was the case the hidden screws would make this knife an even greater piece then it is already and just going by the other reviews I have seen you do that have it. Keep up with the great vids Jim, never new a guy talking about knives could entertain me lmao
