One thing I try to have is the rear tires be just out of the water when you start the burnout. The water can spray up into the fender liner and drip back down on the clean slick and track. At this HP, it doesn't take much to upset the combination.
@dannotwalruslarkin9324Ай бұрын
Vibration takes care of all that during the burn out and drive out. Fronts are dry quick and any left on the track from the fronts is gone from the burn out and drive through. The only time it's a problem is when there is a 4 foot fkn pond of water from dummies, and even then, drive it out further.
@fabiotiburziАй бұрын
I think it's more of a suspension issue
@The340kingАй бұрын
@@dannotwalruslarkin9324 I was a tech inspector and starter at a local truck. It can and does happen. Pulling just out of the water is the best insurance. I have seen the water dripping down from the tubs while they're staging. It was rare, but it happened.

If SS has rear disk brakes, just need to add another caliper (two calipers/rotor) in the rear. This was a 90s trick for racing in foot brake, when rear disk brakes were still new. GL

Or just upgrade to a much better single caliper from the stock pieces.

Hey I have a question. You said that it shook the tires at the end of the vid. But what about keeping the power but adding a bit of tire pressure? I don’t run as much power as you, but I find that sometimes pressure has to go up with a. Increase in power. The more power, the more likely it is for the tire to roll over itself. Just a thought.

Hello Hello From Canada!!! I love watching you racing, because you're like "Oh well",.. then "Gosh Dang it" and that is it. Even though other drivers don't get angry, and then stay outwardly mad when something doesn't work, you can still see the frustration and stress on their faces. You like experimenting with this or that and playing with the car for more speed, "BUT YOU LOVE RACING SO MUCH", that you keep the racing fun. Like you say so often, "I made a brick go ?.?? seconds". Thank you for bringing us along for the great track time, but most of all, thank you for sharing all the fun you have along the way. I hope you and all those in your life, stay safe, stay healthy and are as happy as you possibly can be in everything you do. 🤘😁👍 P.S. I noticed that after you made the great first run, you broke the rules and changed multiple things before the slower times instead of just one thing at a time. Sometimes it is better to take two steps back.

My go to for power brakes is a vp555 pump and a vpr700 tank. Works really well and super simple to wire in. Assuming youre still factory calipers theyre just not big enough without a master/caliper swap its hard not to drive through them. Set of ebc blues may get you most of the way there.

Mechanical or electrical vacuum pump with a lightweight reservoir, or just a lightweight reservoir with a regulator, that you fill beforehand. For your brake issue. If you go with a pump option, you could also take some stress off the electrical system. Convert the switches you can to operate on vacuum. Run super lightweight hard lines and storage tanks in the necessary locations. You could get rid of some heavy copper wiring and bump up the 1/8th with some weight loss and better brakes for holding the car, to build boost all at the same time? If your diff can handle it, straighten all the bars up. Change your rear tyre rolling diameter, bigger tyre on left hand rear, to go right. Bigger tyre on right hand rear to go left. Might give you some better fine fine tuning options?
@DaveJT-ws8vjАй бұрын
For the Trail Blazer see about adding hydra-boost for your brakes to increase the pedal pressure

Man what a fun day with the boys making hit after hit with engines you have build. Could the imperfections in the cylinders from the screw cause hot spots that could start to melt or damage the piston further? Just thinking of a cutting torch, much easier to cut metal if you can heat up an imperfection on the surface of the metal.

You should have a one way valve on your booster. Hook 2 step to brake switch so you can build boost. Used my truck like that for years

Making the branches for the blow offs look like branches on a tree would be functional and kinda a built-in dad joke. Air wants to turn at about 30° before it wants to shear across the opening of the tap and create turbulence, making the hole a lot smaller.
@bigbearvenom6145Ай бұрын
That was a great run Steve awesome on 1st run ! I would think you would adjust upper, and lower bar of a four link to drive right to keep that right side uniform and not change pinion angle but just drive the car right with uniform axle adjustment... Then on your 2nd run would of thought should of not adjusted timing and went ahead, and run to see if with same tune it would run straight and see if that corrected the rear steer under same power now you've lost your read on steer because of timing change... It did run nice and straight on that second run, and sounded good and clean run. Third run looked good got left to center line but looked like a start of tire shake but didn't but think you might of come off throttle toward end. 4th run yeap tire shake maybe add some lead weight directly over rear axle even though the car is heavy add weight on rear axle because you've got the horse power you just have to load your rear axle more with weight to settle it down.
