Even if he is a good shot, there's 0 proof he actually did the shots. They never show him doing the shots in a single take. This show would never do anything to make Steven Seagal look bad. Let's be real here.

Slowly we're getting a complete picture of Redeye: recently married, pale, likes mountain climbing, doesn't know about guns, has a ludicrous DVD collection, and massive amounts of disposable income for autographed eBay photos. I'm sure someone else has more clues. Edit: He also possibly has access to Steven Seagal DNA due to the hair. This is Jurassic Park all over again.

Depends on the person shooting. I've seen people miss the 3 yard target. When I was active duty and also when I was federal law enforcement, we had to shoot a 9mm from 3 yards, 7 yards, and 25 yards (which changed to 15 yards after recent check). It didn't look like he was shooting past the 3 yard line which you should have your tightest grouping and the range that would make him look like a decent shooter. For Navy quals you had a 180 minimum to pass with a 240 max score. Marksmanship is earned from 180-203 points; Sharpshooter, 204-227; and Expert, 228 or higher. I averaged around 234, once it gets out to 25 yards it gets a little challenging, but all 48 of my rounds always hit the target.

@@fierysmile2929 most of the time they hit the paper but miss the target on it. There are some special cases when people miss the target all together at 3 yards, it's sad. There's a handful of different variables that go into people missing; too much finger on the trigger when firing, anticipating the recoil, trying to shoot a handgun sideways because they saw it on tv and thought it looked cool, and some people are just afraid of firing a gun are just a few reasons. It's more common than you think. Men a lot of times are the worst culprits.

Gun range walls are built and certified to stop bullets. The back wall will be sharp wedges of concrete pointed at the shooter so the bullet will hit them at an angle and be trapped and worn down. And the side walls are extra thick concrete in case of accidents, and dividers between shooting booths are typically Kevlar or similar

Those pistols (Sig 226 and Segal’s Springfield 1911)have a single action trigger pull of 2.5-3.5 lbs and only have to pull it a few cm. That’s an extremely easy trigger pull for anyone and they weren’t shooting under stress such as low light or a timer or moving or anything. Extremely easy targets and not great groupings for the distance 5-7yds max if that

Several points: He’s shooting a 1911, which has the best trigger on the planet (I’m not a fudd 1911 boomer, btw. Just a firearms instructor 😅). That allows for a crisp break and less chance of jerking the gun. He only ever uses them in his movies. No other pistols, from what I’ve seen. Secondly, they really are only about 5 yards from the target, at MOST. Reasonable, but not hard to stack shots close together. Essentially, he’s an average marksman at best. Plus, judging from his own reaction to his target, that may have been REALLY good for him… Thus nullifying my previous statement. Luck?
@PowermadNavigator
@PowermadNavigator 2 жыл бұрын
Well, shooting a pistol can be harder than it looks and there's a lot of theory in it too and shooting at close range is something you generally would want to practice, but... I wouldn't say that the way these guys were doing it here is too condusive to training. It really looks like "for the camera" or just their fourth visit to the range, popping caps... not what I would consider serious law enforcement stuff, so not particularly impressive. It's hard if it's all dynamic and close to real or even real. If somebody is attacking you and grappling with you and you have to fend them off, protect your weapon from being taken from you and shoot at the attacker and there is all of this movement. That would be a plausible situation worth practicing as much as possible. But they're not doing that. They're just standing there, goofing around and shooting a bit. Not much of a training session. Literally looks like their fourth time on the range, not serious training. That girl in the hostage situation target looks hot tho, would date. How somebody managed to take half her head off at this distance is beyond me. What I wanna know is... how did they give him a 120 score on a basic silhouette target which has no numbers on it, no points, no target area rings? And like 50 holes in it. What was that? How did they work that out?

Shooting a nine millimeter is easy as fuck. Basically no recoil. Also the targets where so close to them it's harder not to miss the target. Also what you described isn't really a thing. Gun holster have protection to you can't just take them out willy nilly. If the police department has updated them. This is a bit "newer" but gun holster have this safety nowadays. Second nobody is going to grab your pistol when you already have it in your hand. This isn't Hollywood. Those are not soldiers. They don't need that kind of training. What you described is only done by special forces in the police branch that literally get military training on top of regular police training. Normal officer actually just shoot targets. That's it. Edit: Why the fuck does Steven has a 1911? Caliber .45 ACP isn't police standard. It's much better then 9 mm but he shouldn't been using this.

As to structural damage, most ranges have backstops made of material to catch bullets. Often hard rubber, sand, and in more advanced ranges a wet backstop that's like a continuous waterfall. All materials are great at stopping bullets, especially handgun rounds that are not actually very powerful. (example, a 9mm round delivers about 300-400 foot pounds of energy, the average person can deliver 100 foot pounds with a punch)

Pistols are harder to shoot accurately. But those targets are very close. A noob would have trouble with these shots but someone with proficiency and experience its a cakewalk.

For someone who has supposedly been in law enforcement for 20 years and been doing films where he uses firearms (and, I assume trains to use them properly) it's not a big deal. I'd give him credit if it were earned, but as usual in Stevo's case, it's not-at least not like it's made out to seem.

At my In door range , sand bags cover all the walls. BtW his shot grouping is terrible . To see someone’s actual talent when shooting it should be limited to 3 shots and then average the distance in between in the impacts . If you want to be hardcore , he should shoot all three shots within 2 seconds and have the gun holstered before starting . Real life situations don’t allow time to steady up your shots .
