Steven Crowder hit the streets of Dallas-Fort Worth to talk to people about it-just talk. The topic of Roe v. Wade is contentious, but Americans should still be capable of talking to one another. And what he found out is we can.

How do you feel about Roe v. Wade potentially being overturned?

people talk about women dying. but like. they cant see the child having no option in the matter? who defends that child? right because the mother is the last line of defence. its another thing that 'the agenda' has attacked. ruin the father role in marriage. ruin marriage. ruin children... now take away the thought that women should defend their children.

Its literally ideal to overturn. States should have their own laws. It gives power to the citizens of that state. Minimize federal laws.

I have mixed feelings. I know there are many states that have laws still in place that basically bans abortion. I also have heard stories from my mother about people dying going to hacks because abortion was illegal. I know that a child needs parental consent to go to a dentist for a teeth cleaning but a 13 year old can get an abortion without their parents knowledge. I know my niece was born three months early and is a lovely 22 year old today. I know that there has been a morning after pill for decades but it is not taught as a way to prevent birth but abortion is. I know there has been great strides in birth control that many really do not know and is not widely advised. I know that if it takes you 8.5 months to decide if you want the being growing inside you to live or not, in my opinion, then you already made that decision. I know that if the health of the mother is at stake it is no longer really considered abortion but a medical procedure entirely. I know that "women's health" is about much more than abortion but no one talks about any of the other issues. I know that the founder of planned parenthood was excited to prevent the birth of black babies so placed facilities in predominantly black areas. I know the vast majority of people were actually fine with abortion being "safe, legal, and RARE" but not up to birth and as a normalized form of birth control. So I know a lot of facts and many of my feelings are sort of shown by those facts. I also know that the overturning sends the issue to the states. My hope is that at that point states have elections so that the people can decide how abortion goes within that state. Let the common sense of the people decide. And hope people use their common sense and not their "feelings". EDIT: I actually wrote this before watching the video

I was pro choice until my wife and I were going to have our son. The deal breaker was when we found out at 4 months that he was going to have Down’s syndrome. First thing the doctor and nurse said was about termination and trying again. I saw him on one of those 3-D sonograms. He was a little dude. How can a person see a baby’s face and decide,Na that’s not a baby I’m gonna kill it. Nope,no way Jose. That’s my son and he’s the best thing that ever happened to me.

When I was pregnant with my second child I was told by the doctors that I should have an abortion. Only because they saw a dot on her heart - they wanted to do "testing" to see more and I told them that I didn't care if she had Down Syndrome or any other "defect" I still wanted to keep her (So I said no to the testing). I couldn't believe how much they pushed the issue, I told them I was pro life and it seemed to have spurred them on. I was so upset with the idea that these people wanted me to abort her - I went somewhere else and got a second opinion. It turns out it was nothing, it was a glitch in their system and there was NOTHING wrong with her heart. She is 7 now and is as healthy as can be. It breaks my heart to think of how many babies are terminated due to this kind of situation. The doctors stoke fear into the mothers and pressure them.

Gee. I've heard that it is hard to find a OB who is not prolife, because they've got two patients. When I told my OB that I didn't want amniocentesis to verify that my daughter had Downs, he actually breathed a sigh of relief. He explained that he was required by law to offer the test, although there is a probability of accidental miscarriage due to the test.

*The Issues* Abortion is either something that: 1. Prevents a human life coming into existence. 2. Ends a human life already in existence. If it is #1 then it is just like the many other available forms of birth control, so why are the pro-abortion people so upset (they have at worst lost one form of #1 from many available forms and there are many medical procedures people are restricted from having and can’t just have because they want them)? If it is #2 it is immoral and should be illegal. Three reasons why it should be illegal: 1. It was not the babies choice to be put in a place of dependence for life on the mother, it was the mother’s (adults) choice to open the possibility that the baby would be forced into that position; so she can not just change her mind a few months later and kill the child. 2. A parent has a moral responsibility for the life and well being of their child. 3. Killing an innocent human being (and unborn babies are the most innocent and dependent members of our society) is murder and murder should be illegal. For these three reasons abortion should be illegal. Obviously under rape the first condition does not apply for the mothers side but I believe the other two conditions still apply.

The biggest problem is they aren't being challenged at any point in time, with an opposing viewpoint. I felt the same way. As someone who knew nothing about the subject. At 18. And then I looked up the pictures, of exactly what an abortion is. At these different periods of time. And can now safely say I think an, "abortion" past 12 weeks. Is just plain murder. And that's just from a cold, you don't have a soul. You're a meat bag with bones perspective. That I had at the time. But I will say I wholly disagree with abstinence only doctrine. With no information about contraceptives and basic biology lessons. And that being similar to graduating people who can't read. Even though I know there's a deep spiritual connection between people and flippantly going around, is damaging. And people can argue that. But they see it every time a person completely changes on every level. When they start having that connection again. With someone who is a terrible person. And you can see them on some level become that other person. And no longer accept or talk to you or what say the same way anymore. Until they stop again. And that is also why booze is called spirits. All this stuff is not non sense. There's reasons why people keep coming back to these "old" ideas.

Meanwhile, last time I went to Oregon, I only saw white folks. I think that might actually be the problem right there; the number of black people living in southern states is noticeably higher than the number living in these blue states which means southerners like me interact with more black people in a day than your average Californian will in a month. I suspect that this means that the different ethinicities become familiar over time here in the south where basically everytime a California white guy spots a black guy, its a rare encounter.

Roe V Wade basically makes it illegal to make laws for the first and 2nd trimesters. It does allow limited laws for 2nd trimester abortions but basically allows women to abort a child all the way up to 24 weeks. It also makes it legal for states to decide whether to abort a child all the way up to birth if they want too pass laws on it. Pretty much every other country on this planet have abortion illegal, or laws that limit it in the 1st trimester. INCLUDING western countries. Roe v Wade when it comes down to it, is an extremely left wing piece of legislation.

Hey there, also a non-US resident here, I am from the Czech Republic to be specific. From what I see with people here, it is not common knowledge how lax many US state's abortion laws are, most of them assume it is similar to European countries, for example here it is perfectly legal up to 12 weeks, prescribed by a doctor and upon independent medical review in severe cases up to 24 weeks, in life-threatening cases indefinite. Thanks to legacy and social media so many people assume any attempt of regulation equals a ban. But just like Steven, upon further discussion most would agree on a limit at 12-16 weeks and are disgusted with how late abortions are legal in some states.

It’s not a gift it’s just not immediately assuming that who you’re talking to has a 100% opposing opinion. As divided as the left and right seem these days I’m gonna say that’s because of the loud minority. Most people aren’t as radical in their beliefs as media leads you on to believe. The first step to understanding that is to realize the internet is fake. The next is to understand most Americans do have a sense of patriotism and want this country to work. The last step is letting the opposition convince you as well. They flipped back and forth from limits to no limits from sentence to sentence. I couldn't live like that.

@@codmott286 , by law the United States Government has no Authority over women to address roe v wade in the first place. There is law on the books to prevent the court from addressing that action at all. The problem is the civil rights act turned women into property to grant them that Authority to regulate women as goods and services within law. That is why it appeared after the civil rights act put women under an authority and the voting rights act gave that subject the ability to vote. The elected government will not tell you this, so the appointed ones of government must tell you. This guy is appointed and not of any social or political group to be subject to speak "for" them.

What isn't discussed enough is why the father (or potential father) has absolutely no say in the conversation. The girl at the end asked "why would someone want to get an abortion at 8 months?". One very likely reason is that the woman does it to spite the father. This happens way more than it should and it's sick and evil. But of course the father has no bearing on the outcome. Another overused reasoning to end the life is that it's better to end the life than to raise it poor. Now what if the father is better off than the mother and he is willing to raise it without her? Should she have the right to throw it in the trash even if there is a willing, capable father willing to take the responsibility? The truth is this: Does the woman have a right to do with her body what she wants? Yes. Are there ways to prevent pregnancy? Yes. Is abortion barbaric and disgusting? Yes. We shouldn't be focusing on does the woman have a right to her body, we should be discussing why abortion is wrong and why we aren't preventing it.

What they don’t tell these women is it’s permanent, it will haunt you if you aren’t a complete sociopath, it can be damaging to the reproductive system and render you infertile, that your baby will be sold for a profit, that PP doesn’t do “female reproductive healthcare”, they’re in 1 business only. When these girls are in their 40’s and on they will start wondering what that baby they killed would have been like, what their grandchildren would have been like, what would their life had been like. It will leave a pit of sadness that never can be filled or replaced and that is just extremely sad for everyone involved. The fathers of these murdered babies, I have heard some heartbreaking stories, men still mourning children they never even laid eyes on 40 years later. I just spoke to a family member of mine that her grand-daughter had several and she’s a wreck! She’s in her 70’s and cries saying she would have raised at least one of them. Horrible. My heart breaks for her. The decision doesn’t just affect the undeserving never-to-be mom, but everyone they know. The aunts and uncles that won’t be. The cousins that won’t get the play together. Outsiders dont get to say how I or anyone else uses their OWN reproductive system. Roe V Wade protects bodily autonomy as it relates to women being the only arbitors over their own reproductive system. Makes sense?
