this was supposed to be a song to commemorate their 6th anniversary (it was released on January 13th, it was also a Friday, which sounds fitting haha) so the friendship you’re talking about is with their fan-base, hence the lyrics in the bridge~post-2nd chorus “we are always with Insomnia, we can spend more time together”. the song basically says that we’re the Reason they are as successful and happy as they are, and that we’ve lifted them up whenever they felt down. ❤

Dreamcatcher are known in Korea as 'stair idols'. Most Kpop groups become popular in their first year after debut. Dreamcatcher had to climb to the top one painful, exhausting step at a time. InSomnia was with them every step of the way and they very much know that. Dreamcatcher exists because InSomnia exhausts.

"Reason" is the fan-song for Dreamcatcher's 6th anniversary. I can't even begin to describe how proud I am of them. They're flexing their rock and vocal muscles, while all three rappers make an appearance. We might be lifting them up, but they should know, they are also carrying us. Happy 6th anniversary, Dreamcatcher! Can you imagine this song live? With us InSomnia going Whoooo-whoooaaa and them singing over it? 😊 I wouldn't be surprised if the animations were done by a fan, I seem to recognize the style. Whoever did them, they did a great job. I see the book from the Nightmare arc, the mask from Scream, the gun from R.o.S.E Blue, the gagged bust from Boca, the cup from Odd Eye, the hand through the mirror from Good Night and the clock from Piri. Musically, I am in heaven. I'm a metalhead and I love the song. AND THAT RIFF! 🤘🎸 Obviously the song is an absolute anthem! If you can afford it, please remember to purchase the MP3. I got mine from Amazon, and I love listening to the instrumental as well!

Linkin Park was the first group I fell in love with in middle school, and my first burned cd of them. DC had taken over my heart once I discovered them. Two of my favorite groups of all time.

the song is about us, Insomnias, dreamcatcher fans. in the video you can see them going up the stairs (of fame and popularity) and they fall midway and a hand that represents us fans come to help them climb to the top. at the end of the video you see a figure smiling representing insomnias being happy for dreamcatcher's success. if you pay close attention to the lyrics there's a line "we're always with insomnia" and "cus you're the reason" and at the very beginning SuA says in korean "because of insomnia, dreamcatcher exists".

They just added subs! Thank you for articulating so well what is so brilliant and unique about Dreamcatcher. The comparison with Linkin Park is apt. Also, I think you are spot on about the meaning the lyrics and the role of friendship. One thing you may not know is that Dreamcatcher has been a bit of a pariah within the Kpop world because they are different, even being denied a music show win for Deja Vu, and they did not get their first music show win until 5 years after their debut - last year. By comparison , GFriend, which debuted around the same time had dozens of wins -even thought they disbanded two years ago. While Dreamcatcher always put on a brave face and made sure to congratulate and celebrate those who won, the lack of recognition clearly took a toll, and they seemed to be psychologically resigned to never winning and getting official Kpop world recognition. This explains why their 2 music show wins (which would be common place for popular groups like Red Velvet and Twice, and not even worth mentioning) are featured. Those of us who are long term fans have suffered with them and were overjoyed when they finally won - in part because we knew how much it would mean to them. This is a long winded way of saying that the song is also about overcoming adversity.

I really like your interpretation of the lyrics. And you are basically right. It is supposed to be about the relationship of the DC girls and the fandom, but basically it is a song about friendship and friendly love. Also this is a fucking anthem! All the rap, the high notes, the woo-hoo. I hope they gonna make a "live band version" of it. This meant to be performed with a band. It's a rock song.

dreamcatcher \:D/ you are on the right path with friendship. last week, it was friday the 13th. six years ago on the same date, dreamcatcher was born(or reborn if you count the failed group prior). so this song is actually an anniversary fan song, a gift to their fans, insomnias. they have always said they exist and their success has always been due to insomnias. that's what the animation part shows, the fans being the hand that lifts them up through the hardships. the love and appreciation they express towards fans at their concerts is so real that surprised even just casual fans.
