Crow Sting, another great idea from Scott Hall.
@ajtaylor87502 жыл бұрын
The Crow Sting is simply iconic and the aura that the character brought to WCW Nitro made it a moment whenever he showed up the the show. Sting really took a gamble going from the beloved Surfer gimmick to the dark antihero, but man did it pay off and make for one of the most iconic characters in wrestling history.
@GARRISVANHORN2 жыл бұрын
It definitely was going to be epic because we was so used to the Surfer Sting. When Sting went Dark it was something new and exciting

Definitely. Wrestler of the year in 97.

Without question! And to be honest, there is no way this should have worked. Sting was a beloved character. People knew WHO he was... WHAT he was. Then, in the middle of one of the Greatest Heel Turns of All Time (Hulkster) and the utter domination of the NWO over ALL of Wrestling, somehow Sting completely changes wmWHO and WHAT he is, and of all things, he chooses the exact same colors as the NWO, and the face paint of... The Crow. There is just no way this should have worked. No. Way. I mean, many people loved Sting, and many people loved the movie "The Crow". But the combination of the 2? Crickets. But for whatever reason, this was EXACTLY what the fans of Sting and of WCW wanted. Needed. It's still one of the greatest storyline of my lifetime.

Awesome , this is so great. I didn't have cable back in the 90's as I grew up in a poor family so I never had the chance to watch this stuff. Back in high school I actually thought that everyone talking about the N.W.O. was the phantom government conspiracy that has to do with the words new world order in Latin on the back of American money. It wasn't till 2000 that I finally knew who Hollywood Hogan was and that it was just a heel version of Hulk Hogan and even learned of the Monday night wars. I really lived in a bubble back then. So this is great, while most of you guys are reliving it , I am actually experiencing most of this for the first time. Thanks so much Wrestling Bios for introducing me to Raw vs Nitro the Monday night wars.

@TheJokesterSCR2 жыл бұрын
How TF did they ruin him? Wolfpack Sting was dope. Then his return to black and white, just with more personality. He couldn't keep doing the no talking thing forever. It worked for the storyline being told with the NWO. It wouldn't have worked moving forward. Sting has always been awesome. Aside from the few times when promoters attempted turning him heel and absolutely nobody bought into it, LOL! Luckily, those were very short lived.
