Living in Florida with mold and mildew as roommates, I've learned you MUST let any product with a bleaching agent sit for a spell before rubbing. Give it a good spray, let it sit for 5 minutes (or more), and wipe it up with the rag or sponge of your choice. (I like microfiber.) Magic Erasers work great but deteriorate rapidly even if you use them dry and on a dry surface for scuffs, etc.

Here Stoney, I think if you would use a steamer for car is like $100. It cleans off stuff very good and it also would soften up your fabric and it wouldn’t crack as much.

Try white vinegar & water 50/50 spray bottle. Much cheaper and it works! I helped clean good leather furniture that was kept in a shipping container for 20+ years. Full of mold and mildew. Worked GREAT! Furniture is currently being used in his recently built new home.

I'm impressed; there is some RV roof PVA sealer I'm wondering if you thoroughly cleaned seat even soaking paper towels with cleaner then Mr. Clean scrubbing pads then rinse & dry 3 coat seat with PVA roof sealer 3 coats you might end up with longer lasting sealer nicer looking seats for long time if you know you're gasey or oily put a towel over seat example if your logging and running a bunch of logs chain saw bar oil fowling carhart bib coveralls where you know you are gross put something to cover seat or truly greased from oiling zerks with grease gun. Worth while we all get funky sometimes

I’m not sure what it is with that magic eraser but I’ve tried it on some stuff here at the house and it seems like the magic eraser does the job. It must have something with that material that helps it remove stains off vinyl, wood, and other stuff.

Use a Star-Brite product on my boat. (Instant Hull Cleaner. ) Takes the iron and algae stains off the fiberglass (almost) instantly. Couldn't find anything else that would work. Takes the boat from having a brown bottom back to white. Highly recommend their cleaning products.

Make sure you hose it off with clean water and then use 303 aero space protection after or that stuff will dry out the vinyl and cause it to crack.

Need to buy the John Deere seat cover. I have one on my tractor and it works great
@StoneyRidgeFarmerКүн бұрын
yep.....another $100 in the hands of a john deere dealer right? I had a cover on my deere zero turn, after about a year it looked horrible, faded and nasty....rather have a nice clean seat in my world lol. Funny story.....dad bought a brand new 2001 F350 Dually.....Leather and the whole works.....mom and dad loved that truck so they took tan towels and made them into seat covers to protect the leather seats....in 2001 I asked them...why on earth did ya buy a truck with leather seats to sit on a darn towel? It was too darn tacky for me......now in 2024 he still has the truck, the leather is in near perfect condition and they gave up on the towels as they got nasty, crusty and fell apart. Note to self...just take care of your upholstery and it will hold up...repair it if it gets torn and keep it clean/dry and serviceable. Dad's truck is the 7.3 Dually with 190k miles on it now....great truck...worth more now than when he bought it!

How about soaking a cloth in the remover then lay it flat on the seat for awhile.
@StoneyRidgeFarmerКүн бұрын
so....it's my understanding that cleaners like this actually "oxidize" and that requires oxygen...so if you spray it down, let it soak and dry it's more effective, the magic eraser evidently works the product into the seat material and allowing that to dry/oxidize is what actually cleans the seat. Once done, rinse a few times and I hit it with some armorall protectant to re-moisturize it

What??? No more Super Clean??? I cleaned a lot of stuff in my life and I would think a good stiff scrub brush would have worked much better than those crappy Magic Eraser pads. You turned me on to Super Clean and I haven't found anything that it doesn't clean. You just have to be careful about using it. Afterwards wipe down with hot water on certain materials. A light bleach/water mix would be just as good as the $20 bottle of nonsense....

@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Not wrong Josh, just a bit not needed. I have a box of those erasers sitting under my sink because they suck. As for spending $20 for 32oz(sorry 22 oz) of a bleach substitute it makes me wonder if you're trying to push your Amazon affiliate. Just speaking my educated opinion. You have shown better content than cleaning a seat, which I assume your followers believe they deserve better. I have been following you for many years...
@StoneyRidgeFarmer17 сағат бұрын
lol...funny...I have a box of them under my sink too....and I thought they sucked until this....I don't think ya really understand what the affiliate thing is...it's just a way for me to share a link with ya...not "pushing" anything...more so helping make it easy to click and get what ya need. Now...as for content, my brotha.....this is as simple as it gets, I post rural lifestyle content...sometimes it's cooking, sometimes it's wrenching and sometimes it's running a chainsaw. It's all meant to entertain and help folks...and make no mistake, this is part of how I earn a living. Around 80 hours a week is dedicated to content on my end, and I feed 3 families with it. So....to "educate" ya....an affiliate link doesn't mean sponsored...it's just a way for me to share links to amazon and earns about 4%. So on a $20 purchase we're talking about around $1.00 if someone purchases. I'm showing you something that works....an easy solution to a common problem, and that's what I do. I also have the most popular "how to clean headlights" video on planet earth...yep...and that's what I do. So...if ya like me, you enjoy the content...expect that sometimes I'll post some simple "quick tips" for everyday living. Been at this for around 9 years now....and every video isn't gonna be an epic project....sometimes we'll just show folks an interesting way to clean that nasty yellow john deere seat. On the back end....I researched for weeks to find just the right product and narrowed it down to these two. Out of the millions of stained J Deere seats on this planet... I now have the only video showing ya how to fix it with ease. I think that's honorable...what do you think now that you have a better understanding of the work and thought process ?
