Hey Josh, I've always been told to place a wood plank under your battery instead of putting it on the ground. Grandpa always said, putting on the ground it drained the battery faster.

Hi Josh, just a friendly suggestion to help improve your already great permanent fence… Putting a cap of some type on your metal fence posts will reduce water from collecting and rusting them from the inside. Even galvanized posts will rust over the decades (the next generation may appreciate it) Much respect

If you bury it more than 4 feet deep it may never decompose. I worked on a site where we were putting in a new road. They buried stumps and logs more than 4 feet deep. Almost no decomposition. Be aware of implications of everything you do. Shredding/chipping or burning are better alternatives. 😊
@allenhollenbach46923 күн бұрын
I was on a site where they buried stumps, trunks, and branches 10-12' deep like 20 years before. Geotech found them. The land owner spent a lot of money digging everything up to grind it, remove it, and refill the hole. They were putting up a big warehouse and that stuff undsr there was no good. It stank bad when digging it up. Don't bury stuff.
@StoneyRidgeFarmer2 күн бұрын
bury stuff when ya know there's no warehouse going in I guess...on a farm...not such a big deal, but industrial property it is for sure.....tell ya a funny one....this same guy that pushed these stumps off for me dug a hole on a lot he was clearing...right where the house was gonna be....and he buried stumps under the ground right under the house site!!!! What a jerk! He knew better than that!! This video just exposed 1 of about 10 things my first land clearing contractor did wrong....heck, I was paying him by the hour...why not take the time and do it right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Josh just a suggestion why don't you charge your 12v batteries with their own solar panels. That way you don't have to keep going to the charger all the time solar panel will do the charging for you free energy saves you time to do other things.

Cast loaders don’t require you to take down the fencing surrounding the hay either. You just plug a bail out of the electric fence area.

Hey Josh thank you for the video and I did not know even the 100% grass-fed beef that you get from the store is not really 100 percent how about the organic because that's what my friend really eats she said she can tell the difference if she eats other food her and her husband woo
@micheldupuis-q9l4 күн бұрын
Hi Johsh i always thinking what would the difference would be if you would till a piece of land to get that hard land loosening up and then to see if that would help with your grass growing better......keep those videos comming ,have a great day.....
@mikemiraglia74693 күн бұрын
Josh, I know you said before you buy a lot of your hay how come you’re not taking a couple fields and planting it so you don’t have to buy as much? Maybe I missed that in a video that you do grow some of your own it just seems like it would be more cost-effective to at least grow some of it ? The video shots are awesome. I wanna know how you are driving that tractor. I’m flying your drone at the same time.😂😂
@StoneyRidgeFarmer2 күн бұрын
Simple answer: COST.....we are in a building phase as it pertains to soil on this farm...without artificial chemicals. Cost to fertilize this farm with commercial fertilizers is over $25k per year, along with seed and time and maintaining a $20k baler, rake, $20k Cutter and tractor. Cost for hay purchase that builds the soil and beef is $10k per year....cost to grow my own is much much higher. However I am working on a way to start rotating pastures and baling some hay....it's just gonna take a little more time to build the soil up. So...it's coming...but not yet
@mikemiraglia74692 күн бұрын
@ after I made the comment I thought about having the equipment and I never saw any of the equipment which I’ve seen before and other farms. I can understand. I appreciate the answer though thank you. You do have enough to do already there so if somebody else can grow the hay and bail it cheaper, I get it ! Have a great rest of your weekend.

Have you thought about clipping a solar battery charger panel to the fence and letting it keep the battery up? They are only about $20 on Amazon
@StoneyRidgeFarmer3 күн бұрын
yeppers....however they can over charge the battery and cause issue...must have a charge controller with the solar setup....did a vid a while back building out one of these
@allenmullis13302 күн бұрын
@StoneyRidgeFarmer I doubt they'd overcharge at a rate that would hurt the already bad battery. Give it a shot, nothing to lose but an already bad battery

2 questions. What does feeding grain have to do with the pregnancy of a cow? Also why not go up one level on the hay? Still a shorter row, just 2 high. Any reason that won't work?
@StoneyRidgeFarmer3 күн бұрын
Feeding grain has nothing to do with pregnancy, my cows never receive grain, I must have said something that made you think about that, sorry. The hay is set up for picking up with the bale unroller...so we don't move it twice. Moving them off the trailer and handling them once is always the goal

I wonder if those grain feed cows are where those Earth destroying cow farts come from 🤔
@StoneyRidgeFarmer3 күн бұрын
think about this....the cows are hauled to the feed lot, then the grain is hauled to the feed lot, then the medications, feed and people have to drive to the feed lot. Then they haul out the manure, waste water and over contaminate the are with manure....then they haul out the manure. V/s just having the cows on the land for life, letting them eat grass and keeping them healthy without medications

Yes. That’s what I mainly use
@Livefreejeeper3 күн бұрын
Why do you place them so far apart?
@StoneyRidgeFarmer2 күн бұрын
so I have to be able to access these bales with the Greg Judy bale unroller...it requires space to get in and pick up the bale. The goal is to handle the hay once...when I unload it off the truck....if I butt 2 bales against each other it holds moisture and rots the sides of the bales, therefore the bales have to be spaced like this
@Livefreejeeper2 күн бұрын
