During the "fat free"80's, I talked Mom into buying fat free Saltines. She said, "soon we are all going to have to eat a tablespoon of lard a day to stay alive." Smartest woman ever❤

@@BethEmily763 Wow! You were so lucky to have her that long. If mom were alive today she'd be 94. Born in 1930. She passed in 2010. After a doc talked her into having open heart surgery after she had said no. Beth, I can hear myself trying to get my mom into "fat free" saltines. LOL We must be around the same age. I'm 57.

Beautiful job rendering the lard Lorraine! We can read directions but nothing is better than actually watching the process. Thanks to you and Jason for filming this for us. ❣️ I love that the property is an actual family homestead. You are rendering lard from your pasture raised pigs that were born on your own land. You know everything about your pigs and everything they have been fed. Congratulations Jason, Lorraine and Penelope. This is a great achievement.🎉

Love this video. When my son gets pork from the butcher. I make sure he gets me the Lard. I use it for cooking and soap making. Works great for both. I also use it on my skin. That may seem strange to some people, but it’s actually very close to human skin in its properties. And it doesn’t smell like pork. It works unbelievable on your skin. It does take a little while to absorb so use sparingly. I can’t visualize a Cast iron skillet without a jar of Lard or Tallow next to it. 😍 Thanks Jason and Lorraine for another nice video. I like your rendering technique better than the water addition and on the stove for hours in a huge pot. God bless 😊🙏

I used it but was leery to do so cause one never knows if it was tampered with. I would even buy the fat and render myself but i cannot find that either. I hate using oils and mostly cook with Olive Oil.
