P16 has a 4K+ display, not 3K. It has more than 4 times as many pixels as FullHD. This is important for creators because a 4K video perfectly aligns with the pixels, plus some extra pixels at the top and bottom because of the 16:10 aspect ratio instead of 16:9.

Considering both laptops as a creator. However I’m seeing better pricing and sales on the G16 for similar specs. That would be a huge factor for purchasing decisions.

For me, one of the big differentiators is that you can get the G16 with Intel processor AND the 4080 (or 4090). The 4080/4090 has a different cooling system (vapour chamber & 2 fans vs 3 fans in the 4070) vs the G16 with 4070. So what I think would be interesting is comparing the 64gb P16 4070 vs the 32Gb G16 4080 for video & photo editing and 3D modelling. Would the 64gb & ryzen beat out the 32GB Intel with 4080 for this type of use? 🤔. As others have mentioned P16 has a 4k screen, G16 has 2.5k screen. While I can see 4k suiting video editors more, I’m not sure if the extra resolution would really be of benefit on a 16” screen. I’m also not overly convinced of the benefits of a pen on a device where the screen doesn’t fold flat or back on itself (as in the 2 in 1 designs). I recently bought my son a 2 in 1 Lenovo 7i for college, and being able to flip the screen around and write/draw on the screen like a notepad I can see has some use cases, but trying to write or draw on an upright screen that you have to support with your other hand to get any accuracy, well, I’m unconvinced about that type of usage.

It's like being in 1963, and having to choose between a Buick or Oldsmobile. I would want the Pro-Art, but the Zephyrus is more of what I'd need.

As for me the downside of the P16 is the camera and refresh rate. Hope they'll improve that next year.

@@greenman8 yeah, you can only have 60hz using touch screen. You can use a higher refresh rate through an external monitor.

I don’t understand how a creator laptop doesn’t have a numpad. I have all my shortcuts mapped to the numpad, and I do a ton of work in excel and other software where I have to enter in numbers.

I cannot still wrap my head around why Asus included only ONE USB4 port on a creators' laptop like the P16. a 3 year old 14" M1 Pro Macbook Pro has 3 ports.

@@torpedospurs oh I see your point. my 13980hx Studiobook 16 hsa two M2 slots and two USB4 ports, but I think it has 20 PCIE lanes. Yet, isnt a waste of bandwidth to connect a M2 slot directly to the CPU? I bet the degradation is trivial if they connect it to the chipset and free the CPU lanes. no?

now that I think about it, it is a bit strange they went with the 4070 on the P16, my Studiobook has the ADA 3000. the ADA would be a more creator oriented GPU.

P16 caps out at 4070 with 8 GB VRAM. Huge miss on Asus part. 8 GB VRAM is just not enough for 3d Rendering.

If you can live with IPS display then go for TUF A14 (Gaming + Creators with 165hz screen). Even PX13 makes more sense (360 + pen) than P16..

First I was excited to hear that the HX 370 finally comes with 64GB RAM on the ProArt. Then I checked that in Germany it costs a WHOPPING 1K € more than the 32GB RAM version. I always thought that Apple is the king of extortionate prices, but Asus / AMD surely are worse..

These are the same with different screens. At some point this is electronic waste. Just make one with different vid cards and the same features ugh..and the gaming laptop is better for 3d modeling which is what I do.

@@mes200 Its a better mix of the G16 and P16. Has the best features from both and is decent for gaming if you don't want a dedicated GPU. It has a 120hz OLED screen too which the P16 doesn't have. Thinner chassis for portability too.

P16 is trash. - 60hz screen =unacceptable - Soldered RAM = unacceptable - Lack of USB ports = unacceptable - A wobbly useless touchscreen that doesn't lay at an angle where you can effectively use a the pen on it, also unacceptable - subpar and overpriced graphics card = unacceptable - Asus and their terrible customer service and warranties = unacceptable - Asus inflated prices for avg hardware = unacceptable For creators/designers the p16 is just unacceptable all around.

I've never owed an ASUS before, but you're correct about their customer service... I messaged them last week asing a pre-sales question about their HN7306WV-LX012W, and they told me they couldn't answer any question without a serial number! 🤦‍♂
