I don't need eye primer anymore. No creasing, fading or anything. In my 20s/30s I had oily lids that faded my eyeshadow really badly. I stopped wearing makeup for most of my 40s and only recently started wearing it again. Now that I'm 51, my skin has changed completely. I went from combo/breakout prone skin w sensitivity to completely normal skin. 🤷‍♀️No idea what happened.

I am so thrilled that you introduced me to the sigma eye primer. I've tried a handful but none of them were great. My first was urban decay primer potion, tried a Too Faced, and a couple other brands but they couldn't withstand how sweaty I get when I wear eye makeup the most (ren faire in July/August 🥵 or concerts). My current routine is the O/S setting spray, let that dry, then the sigma primer, then the eyeshadow, and then another layer of o/s. For the first time, spanning a decade of me using stuff and not knowing anything, to following you and a couple other trustworthy beauty content creators, my stuff lasts most of the day, despite me sweating, most of the time because my body hates humidity. 😅

I am soo over people baking their faces, but on the flip side I am also very tired of the glass skin because even though I love the look, its just not attainable for everyone. Sometimes the "instructions" are so contradictory. Take care of your skin, yes, but then we are supposed to use minimal amounts of product on flawed skin to produce the same results? Nuh-uh. Ain't happening babe!

only time I “bake” is when I’m super oily and tbh it’s wiped off right away and it’s just so I’m not a grease ball

thank you for explaining eye primer in such detail!! all the dos and donts super helpful to be told not to use concealer as it gets told so often to use, didnt realise it has hydration so defeating the purpose and thats why not working!

Robert, Since you asked my opinion 😅 😃 What about the content creators that put a white dot on the end of their noses as part of the contour? My eye just goes to that dot just watching it even though they have blended it out. It might give the effect they want in pictures but in real life it probably just looks a white patch of makeup. Just a thought. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I don’t do it with concealer anymore, but I do use highlighter on the top of my nose in an almost dot shape, I love the way it looks in person and in pictures. In person I feel it helps take away from how pointy my nose is, I don’t like it, so using the highlighter helps me with that and I’ve never had anyone say it looks funny even when I used the concealer underneath

I will say that if I have a darker eyeshadow that is just not blending, I take the tiniest amount of translucent setting powder and use that to buff it out. I would rather have a muted look than a patchy one, and this can help salvage a look when I don’t have time to start over

I’m so glad you bought up the crusty dusty 😅 powdering down the sides of the nose as I’ve never understood how that’s supposed to look good and actually look like the shadows we have on the sides of the nose. I also don’t understand when people over blush and bronze their nose so their nose looks completely brown whereas the rest of their face looks white.

I did notice a bit of a niche trend on TikTok a while back, where people were randomly choosing different makeup decades to do. Now some people were doing fantastic, very close to accurate looks using modern day makeup. Great, love to see it, history bounding yay! Others though made me die a little inside when they'd start off with a fairly good look, and then because it was 'vintage' makeup, proceeded to bake the living daylights out of it. It's like, "Okay, did you just use something like Leichner's original formula theatrical grease paint to do your makeup?" If the answer is, "No, I used modern makeup to create this look", then don't bake, it doesn't need it!
