Greg is spot on 100%. When I was in my teen to mid 20 years, I had the same exact diet as Sam and I was unknowingly damaging my body. Eventually it caught up to me when I was around 25 and started to develop a lot of problems like excessive spitting every morning from all the sodium that was in my body and I developed acid reflux and vomited quite often. Thankfully, I cut out all those garbage foods completely and consumed some natural herbs such as Ginger and Aloe Vera and my body was able to do a full reset. Now I am back to normal and not taking this second chance for granted and continuing a good well-balanced diet and exercise. Sharing my little testimony to help other people so that way they don't freak out and go to the hospital and avoid having to take medications...

Fasting, working out more often, quitting drinking, and making sure my calories are 1800-2500 a day (usually about 2100 I’m 5’9”) helped resolve the issues completely. To all the kids getting into fitness please understand there is an important distinction between building muscle and being healthy. Sam has built a great physique with a diet consisting mostly of processed foods, but it is incredibly unhealthy lol. You can build muscle and be healthy while eating some of the foods you love, but you need to use moderation.

I like Sam’s philosophy to an extent: at the end of the day you can do all the science-based programs and diets you want, but consistently pushing your limits and working hard matters above all. That said, when becoming a an advanced-level bodybuilder/lifter, the lifestyle is too volitle to ignore the nuances of training and diet. I hope most people realise eating like this and training semi-recklessly, especially without elite genetics and “significant supplemental assistance,” will only lead to bad things both acutely and long term. I have trust Sam is intelligent enough to learn the middle ground between his principled approach and a more harm-reductionist approach, and hopefully not the hard wat

@Greg Doucette My 10 year old son is a type 1 diabetic. We have learned so much about how his body works and interacts (positively or negatively) with different carbs and their sources. I enjoy learning a few things from your videos (including this one) where you talk about the need for proteins and fats along with the carbs. I can take a lot away from your videos that benefit my son. I'd be interested in seeing a video of bodybuilders eating 400g of carbs before their workouts and seeing how their blood glucose reacts before, during and after the workout while wearing a GCM to see their glucose levels. I don't know anything about bodybuilding so I don't know if 400g of carbs would really be necessary for a serious lifter or not. I'm sure the carbs are for more than just the workout but if they were just for the workout I'd be very intrigued to see how their glucose reacts while lifting.

Have you looked into carnivore for type 1 ? Quite a few people have reduced their insulin intake significantly
@TNGphoto Жыл бұрын
@wearetheremnants1615 I would assume that would be very beneficial. Mostly, we try to have each of my son's meals be between 40-60g carbs and each meal ideally has a lot of protein and fiber and the carbs are more complex. We also have him eat proteins and vegetables first before he eats his carbs and that helps with sugar levels rising too high. Is the carnivore diet entirely meat like the name suggests? That would get very boring after a while I would think. Have you tried it? Tell me what you thought of it if you did.

400g of carbs before a workout is that what your saying? That’s an insane amount for even a top bodybuilder. Usually it’s 40-70g of carbs before. I apologize if that’s not what you were asking rather hypothetically.

I couldn’t imagine, I’ve ate moderately healthy for a few years now between 2000-2800 calories. Even when I do go out if I eat something that’s bad i feel like crap for 2/3 days. That mess would have me tanked for a week

Yeah man, when you are used to eating clean. Then go out and have a pizza you really notice. I hate the way shit food fucks with my digestive system. 💪

@@vgjhlgjhfuyfjhfjkhgyghj it’s a good and bad. You know when you wanna enjoy something it’s gonna get you but it helps keep you strict on your diet

I see a lot of comments on social media saying: “we need more people like this in the industry”. No, we really don’t. He seems like a nice guy, but he is most likely on a lot of drugs (which has had an affect on his skin/acne already), and his diet is awful. We lost Dallas too young, I would hate to see Sam (or someone who looks up to Sam’s lifestyle) go a similar way.
