I am not a liar (insha'allah) and this is why i see so much great depth in this video that may not be understood well by someone who lies a lot and can not relate to the experience and outcome of speaking the truth and living life by truth and authenticity. some points i have taken (hope it helps other) ..thank you for this video: 2:00 lying sends out an unrealistic expectation of yourself to others .. 2:40 that life you are lying about is in your grasp 4:00 when you start telling the truth , people can start warming to you , relating to you ..your relationships can start to grow..trust and honest is involved and sensed. 4:40 - trust yourself ...you lie because you don't trust that you are good enough ...see yourself as a good person and you will not need to lie anymore 5:30 start doing the things that you have been lying about ..use your lying as a sign post ..become authentic 5:40 ..lying creates stress and anxiety tension ..leaves you vulnerable

I know I'm a new comment and you might not even be around anymore, but if you are I'd love to hear from you...I lie because I'm afraid of getting hurt and I'm insecure about being good enough. I don't want to be either, and I definitely don't want to be a liar anymore...I am grateful to know my whys on lying, but not sure what to "fix" to stop it...my confidence overall seems like it, but idk...I'm still learning myself after 30 years...lol

understand why you lie so that you know why you lie (for example not feeling good enough)and you can stop it next time. Lying gives you a short term gain but start telling the truth. Then you don't have to live in fear of being found out

I’ve lied to myself and everyone in my life for years. I’ve cheated on the love of my life, my wife, with women I didn’t truly care about because I wanted instant gratification and I lied to her over and over until I got caught so deep I had to come fully clean and admit it all in its horror. My ex lies about everything, including insignificant things that he doesn’t need to lie about. He lies to avoid accountability or any responsibility for the pain and suffering he caused. He continues to make excuses for his actions and plays ignorant. He is very aware of what he’s doing, but he lives in fear of what others would think of him. So he lies more, to himself and everyone around him. He thrives on self pity and manipulation of others emotions…. When confronted with facts and evidence of his lies, he is defensive and avoids any attempt to resolve problems, furthering the pain and suffering he creates in the family. He will never not be a liar, he doesn’t care about anyone and is not capable of speaking the truth. Some people are not worth it. I wish it was easy to just move on from this, but when kids are involved and believe the lies they are told, it’s just not that easy to let go or move on.

​@josephfalzone2925 Tbh it's like I just do it without thinking like I believe what I'm saying but mirror it in a distorted way without giving all the details to protect myself over stupid simple stuff I just want to change because now I'm realizing that sure I can lie and protect myself in the momentary comfort but eventually it will blow up in my face and no one will trust me so just gotta roll with the blows. what is it that makes you lie? Remember that they are here to help you. Maybe if you discuss with them what their expectations are and what you need help with maybe they can help. Remember lying is short term gain of making you feel ok but delays dealing with the issue. Let me know how you get on

Thank you so much for this video,,it started from lying age 7 to 11 I was being abused but didn’t understand,then noe telling my parents about the horrific abuse in my first marriage to my parents,not telling them,so bad I had to be sterilised twice and lost a child only 15 months after my youngest son was born and I was first sterilised like c section,then raped by my then husband when I bought my son home from hospital,I nearly died,it’s like I’m not enough,,I don’t want people to think I don’t usually tell the truth which I do,,🙏🙏🙏pat

@@francescatreadgold that makes a lot of sense as you are trying to stop feeling uncomfortable However, its the short term gain of stopping you feeling uncomfortable but long term it is making people distrust you. Let me ask you what will happen if you tell the truth? What are you scared of? Because that is how we can start to understand why you lie and then change that behaviour. I know it is tough but know what that feeling is, notice it and then instead of lying use that feeling, to be honest, and tell the truth. It takes some practice, but remember, you are better than lying. Once you get used to confronting your fears and telling the truth, lying won't feel like the easy option any more.
