I mean your goal should be to make the game enjoyable above all else really. Often bad games seem to focus on either the story, graphics, making complicated game mechanics in an attempt to stand out, or simply trying to pull in new players and make a quick buck rather than make the game fun

Okay, so, at least that first one shows a little bit of effort. It's not like the person just got a bunch of random assets and slapped them together to make something mediocre, like Digital Homicide. No, it feels like the person who made it was being earnest, except they had no knowledge at all of how to actually make a game, so it ended up being a mess. That is the first one in the series to have voice acting. If I remember correctly the third one that was a single player story. Second time Lydia was the story character.
