The most hilarious part for me is that this game takes place in a medieval fantasy set-up but when communicating remotely with other characters, they really chose to have a radio filter to their voice because the aesthetics in this game are definitely consistent

@@courier6960 I agree with you on that. I’ve never had fun playing a game that has top of the line graphics. Developers spend so much time trying to make their game look good but then you end up with half the game being cutscenes because they can’t make it playable while still making the game look good, so they give you a cutscene as a bandage fix. I could care less about graphics usually every game I get I end up lowering the video settings so it plays smoother anyways. I feel like they put so much time into them because they can sell the feeling of having a game look great while playing. So people end up buying a top of the line pc to play it. Then once they get it they realize the game sucks because there is no substance just good picture so they delete the game and never go back to it again. My favorite games growing up RuneScape (mainly because It was the only game I could playing growing up as most PCs could run it) Minecraft, overwatch

What’s even more sad is looking at the original announce trailer 4 years ago. It looked like a really cool dark souls vibe single player fighting game. Then they turned it into this in pursuit of that life service $$$. Everything about the game suffered in the process. Such an absolute disappointment, but expected from a Square Enix game these days. Platinum too is really devolving fast, not putting out games, and those they do have been disappointed.

It could also just be some weird error the team didn't know how to fix and said "Fuck it, just leave it in and say it's magic" and tried to build around it and make it seem logical. @@johannliebert2870 ??? We know from many different sources that the issue with Scalebound was Platinum, not Microsoft. MS gave them something like 5 years to make it then Platinum had nothing to show for it, that's why they axed it. At some point you need to cut your losses. With this game specifically, yeah, SE may have been the one that pushed them to make it a live service, didn't gave them enough time nor enough money, however, the art style, the awful design choices, the bad combat, the terribly writing, and so on and forth, that's on Platinum. People really need to stop pretending the dev they like is flawless and can do no wrong. Platinum have had too many "blunders" and or issues in the last few years, all with different Publishers, for people to keep pretending that it is the Publisher's fault and not Platinums. Bayonetta 3 has been in development hell for the longest time, Nintendo is the Publisher. Platinums was making Granblue Fantasy Relink, years of radio silence, Cygame then decided to just make it themselves, axing Platinum. Lost Order, another game Platinum was making for Cygame is MIA, most likely axed too then you have Scalebound with MS. That''s 5 games in around 6 years that Platinum has messed up/were kicked from all from different Publishers. That doesn't look good on them as developers.

Yes, Platinum and MS were not the best pairing, but like I said, sources pointed that it was because of Platinum, not MS. That narrative is pushed even further with the examples I gave, of them working with 3 other Publishers and having the exact same issues. A employee having issues with one employer is one thing, but when the same problems arise with 3-4 other employers then said employee is most likely the issue.
