The most hilarious part for me is that this game takes place in a medieval fantasy set-up but when communicating remotely with other characters, they really chose to have a radio filter to their voice because the aesthetics in this game are definitely consistent

And it's a full-price game that also has microtransactions and other mobile-esque shit like daily login bonuses? Square-Enix is getting pretty consistently worse as a publisher. Developers spend so much time trying to make their game look good but then you end up with half the game being cutscenes because they can’t make it playable while still making the game look good, so they give you a cutscene as a bandage fix. I could care less about graphics usually every game I get I end up lowering the video settings so it plays smoother anyways. I feel like they put so much time into them because they can sell the feeling of having a game look great while playing. So people end up buying a top of the line pc to play it. Then once they get it they realize the game sucks because there is no substance just good picture so they delete the game and never go back to it again. My favorite games growing up RuneScape (mainly because It was the only game I could playing growing up as most PCs could run it) Minecraft, overwatch

What’s even more sad is looking at the original announce trailer 4 years ago. It looked like a really cool dark souls vibe single player fighting game. It could also just be some weird error the team didn't know how to fix and said "Fuck it, just leave it in and say it's magic" and tried to build around it and make it seem logical. I think I'm honestly just done with full priced retail games that come with microtransactions, even if it means I don't buy a single new game at release until they go on a deep sale in a few years. There just isn't an excuse for it, and games like this that are complete garbage priced at 60+ dollars that include microtransactions are the worst of it. People keep just eating this shit up too so they can perpetuate it and nothing positive in the gaming industry changes because they know people will open their wallets no matter what shitty monetization they have, or how good the product is. In this regard the double digit IQ customers that perpetuate these practices are just as bad as the companies themselves. Back in the PS2/GC days, you didn't have the lax freedom to just release a broken piece of shit because you weren't able to just day one patch stuff. If you did you would severely tarnish your companies reputation. Back in the day you sold an actual complete product on release rather than charging full price for it and giving you the other half of the game later on. Back in the day skins and neat stuff were unlockables or collectibles rather than premium cosmetics you had to pay 2.50-10.00 dollars for. Back in the day, if something that could be considered DLC did come out, it was an EXPANSION to the game's content, not the missing content they purposely left out to monetize. This stuff belongs in the realm of Free to Play gaming where the need for some MTX income is justified since the game is free to download and play otherwise. The fact that I can buy most mainstream 60 dollar triple a titles these days and am almost guaranteed to have to spend money to unlock 100% of the game is insane. I and many others have been pointing this predatory shit out for years but it would seem there are just too many morons out there that will shell out money and allow these practices to continue. In an ideal world, no one even touches games like FIFA out of the principle of how predatory those games are. Unfortunately though in reality, there are enough people like this to allow these practices to continue and corrupt gaming away from it's original intention as an art form and a passion. Fortunately there are still good games out there, they are just more rarely triple a titles and more often indie titles these days.

This sort of predatory behavior really became prominent over time starting during the PS3/360 era where internet connections were much more common for a console. They used the same method many governments use to keep people complacent, which is to introduce things slowly over time to keep people uncertain enough until it is too late and widely accepted. It started with horse armor in Oblivion and has now grown in to what it is today. Over time by introducing monetization slowly and in bits they were able to convince people that it was okay because it's ONLY THIS or ONLY that. And now, over time we have gotten to the point where mainstream gaming has become mostly profit over good game design or customer friendly practices. People like me have been pointing out the issues with DLC and microtransactions for a literal decade or more, but people don't listen and now we have the mess that we are in now where mainstream games are rarely even worth buying.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). 2. Combine butter, white sugar, brown sugar, water, cinnamon, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, remove from heat and set aside. 3. Roll out half the pastry to fit a 9-inch pie plate. Place bottom crust in pie plate; pour in apple slices. 4. Roll out top crust into a 10-inch circle. Cut into 8 (1-inch) wide strips with a sharp paring knife or pastry wheel. Weave the pastry strips, one at a time, into a lattice pattern. Fold the ends of the lattice strips under the edge of the bottom crust and crimp to seal. 5. Pour butter-sugar mixture over top of pie, coating the lattice, and allowing any remaining sauce to drizzle through the crust. 6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. MS gave them something like 5 years to make it then Platinum had nothing to show for it, that's why they axed it. At some point you need to cut your losses. With this game specifically, yeah, SE may have been the one that pushed them to make it a live service, didn't gave them enough time nor enough money, however, the art style, the awful design choices, the bad combat, the terribly writing, and so on and forth, that's on Platinum. People really need to stop pretending the dev they like is flawless and can do no wrong. Platinum have had too many "blunders" and or issues in the last few years, all with different Publishers, for people to keep pretending that it is the Publisher's fault and not Platinums. Bayonetta 3 has been in development hell for the longest time, Nintendo is the Publisher. Platinums was making Granblue Fantasy Relink, years of radio silence, Cygame then decided to just make it themselves, axing Platinum. Lost Order, another game Platinum was making for Cygame is MIA, most likely axed too then you have Scalebound with MS. That''s 5 games in around 6 years that Platinum has messed up/were kicked from all from different Publishers. That doesn't look good on them as developers.

Yes, Platinum and MS were not the best pairing, but like I said, sources pointed that it was because of Platinum, not MS. That narrative is pushed even further with the examples I gave, of them working with 3 other Publishers and having the exact same issues. A employee having issues with one employer is one thing, but when the same problems arise with 3-4 other employers then said employee is most likely the issue.
