When we know that every cell in our body needs iodine to thrive; I don't see what 200 mcg of iodine can do in a modern life full of competitions with bromines, fluoride and chlorine.

This doctor was taught from books written by pharmaceutical companies. The pharmaceutical companies teach doctors incorrectly when it comes to iodine. They do this on purpose, iodine deficiency keeps their drugs flowing. 97% of us are iodine. 84% of us are severely iodine. I suggest you follow a different doctor. Look up dr. David Brownstein. He's been working with iodine for close to 30 years now. I also suggest that you join a face book group called Iodine Protocols. I’ve had freezing cold hands and feet for over 5 years. I’ve tried everything including lower dose iodine for months at 3-5mg. Nothing worked. It wasn’t until I jumped to 50mg/day that I saw an immediate change in warmth and blood flow. Several weeks in and I’m finally feeling consistent normal blood flow and the tenderness on my varicose veins are now healing. Temporary high dosing can be very beneficial according to many more experienced Drs that I’ve researched.

I agree that it’s the only thing that’s helped my cold feet. I tested low in iodine, iron and diagnosed with Hashimoto’s. I’ve been taking iron and vitamin D supplements for 8 months. Still tired. First, I took 2-4 drops of 2% lugols for 1 -2 weeks, No effect. I was still tired and my feet were cold. I increased the dose to 10 drops one day and for the first time since my early teens, my feet weren’t freezing cold. I also had much higher energy. However, that meant when I woke up in the middle of the night (premenopausal) , I could not go back to sleep. So I will drop down to maybe 6 drops and hopefully that’ll be the sweet spot. There are other studies e.g by Dr Brownstein countering the information in this video.

Uh, you made a major mistake in your video. The Japanese government said their citizen's average daily intake was between "1 to 3 mg - milligrams" ( That's 1000 to 3000 mcg - micrograms). But the American RDA is about 130 mcg - micrograms ... and the Japanese government says the same thing (following the American RDA apparently). Doctor, that is sloppy work on your end. If the average Japanese citizen is taking 1000 to 3000 mcg - micrograms is that why they are healthier?

@@jimstenlund6017 I'm not convinced people haven't been harmed or that they wouldn't tell people, we may just never hear from them. I know vaping can ruin people's lungs and I know tons of people who vape, but I've seen maybe... one video on KZbin by an actual victim? My personal experience is that high dosage iodine can both help and harm a person, but the questions left unanswered are vast, because I can't personally do a large-scale, long term study. I have found that extremely high doses of iodine can be unreplaceable for treating some of my issues which leads me to NEED TO KNOW this information, but I see nobody doing the research I would need to understand what is going on or how to safely dose myself long-term. What I would say is, it's tricky. I won't stop taking larger doses when I need it, but I also won't be taking it large-dose long-term until I have a better idea what is actually happening. That said, large-dosage for me is 100X what this guy is describing as "large-dosage", and if I destroy my thyroid trying to deal with my other issues than at least I'll have a few weeks or months of a somewhat normal life until then, at which time, I'm done fighting my body. If it wants to go this bad, it's time to go.

I am not saying that you are wrong with your theory, but consider that the RDA of iodine was established many years ago to address the treatment of goiters. The dose determined was based on the amount of iodine that prevented goiters and has never been changed since that time. Maybe it is time to reconsider the benefits of a higher dose to address other requirements of our bodies?

You need to study and learn what iodine is. I downloaded material produced over 100 years ago on the properties of iodine back in the 90's before the Web got scrubbed. But for those who would like the basics on this mineral you must also take Selenium to chelate it How much iodine do you need per day? Answer is how toxic is your life?? Iodine is a heavy metal hunter Iodine also hunts pathogens and parasites Iodine also builds cells I have read material that iodine kills cancers. I know 100% for a fact Iodine kills warts and all classes of fungus, oral and external. Iodine can be drank with any fluid, with beers, wine, spirits, water, milk, tea or coffee. Note , I am no science or GP / MD I have studied iodine for over 30 years My daily dosage is for my requirements and absolutely no other person I worked out my dosage over a 3 year period. When you no longer suffer any ails, I mean zero ails, your dosage is just right whatever levels you get to. I am 90 to 100 kgs (weight varies from season to season) I began with just 2 drops a day in water and after 3 months lifted to 4 drops per day. After 12 months boosted to 6 drops per day, after another 12 months did 10 drops per day and recorded daily my results. It was during these 1st 3 years all my ails cleared up, over a dozen medicated ills My body is now optimized on iodine I could go 2 to 3 years without topping up without loss of wellness, but keep a good thing going I always say. Great video as always, but I think you should be more clear on your units of measure, as you are bouncing back and forth between micrograms and milligrams... Orders of magnitude differences all over the video... 130 mcg, 1-2 mg, 12.5 mg, 150-300 mcg per day etc... If you just keep to mcg or mg throughout, I think it would be a safer discussion with your audience.

Wondering if you have every heard of iodine solving EMF hyper sensitivity. I am hyper sensitive to EMF and RF to the point that it is debilitating. Came across people that had the same issue (one person said they were so sensitive that they could tell what pocket someone had a cell phone in) said that they started Lugol's protocol for other reasons and low and behold their hyper sensitivity symptoms (numbness, tingling, headaches, brain fog, inflammation, etc.) went away and have not returned. I am already supplementing with high dose vitamin C (7,000/day), 200mcg selenium, D3, and just started magnesium glycinate. I have had thyroid nodules (biopsied and not sure if they are still there). I no longer trust my doctor so have not been back. Kept saying to him don't feel right, cannot loose 10 lbs I have gained no matter what I do (I am active). He just ignores. Anyway, wondering if iodine could resolve my HYPER sensitivity or if you have heard of it for this? Thanks. Just came across you and am digging into as many videos as I can. Thanks

I did this in 2017. At the time there were two ways: Take Annie Hopper's 3 day in person workshop ($3,000) or order the DVD program (I think around $230). I ordered the DVD program, it worked fine for me. So basically, the DVD program explains that if you are suffering from EMS sensitivity, your brain is overreacting to the EMFs in your environment. EMFs can be harmful in powerful enough doses, and the brain can recognize this. Some brains can overreact to this, activating a fight or flight system. When this happens the symptoms you can have can literally spiral out of control an get really bad. I ended up living in the forest literally not being able to use a damn flashlight (AA batteries gave me a headache). I could not use a cellphone, the pain was so bad, it felt like my brain was going to crack open. The good news is this is simply your brain massively overreacting to a certain stimuli. The program teaches you how to dial down the reactions, until they eventually go away. Look up NLP, its similar to that. The DVDs explain how your brain can overreact and then they give you a system to employ whenever you experience a reaction, until eventually the reactions go away. All you need is the DVDS. That will work. Nothing else to buy, but it takes some work on your part, brain retraining. It saved my life. I'd still be living in the forest today had I not found the program. I m fine now. I have a cell phone, a laptop, etc. I don't know what the program costs now, but $230 was literally nothing to get my life back. Hope this helps. @@MelLar257
@Kool8675
@Kool8675 11 ай бұрын
One more thing, the program also works for chemical sensitivity, PTSD, food allergies, etc. Because all of these things have the same basic mechanism, your brain overreacting to small amounts of stimuli in the environment. You can also cure yourself, right now. Just know, when you react to EMFS, it's just your brains way of trying to warn you about what it thinks might be dangerous to you. But it's OVERREACTING. When you get a symptom /reaction just remain calm, and tell your brain, its overreacting and that everything is ok. So basically, people's symptoms can get so bad, because they blame the stimuli (EMFs, Chemicals, etc.), and that makes things worse. Your brain becomes MORE reactive then. You simply have to realize it's just an overreaction from your brain. Now if you have bad symptoms, this can be hard to do. The program teaches you exactly how to dial down the reactions systematically until they go away. Some people's brains figure it out in a few days and their symptoms go away that soon. It took me 3 months and I was fine. Annie Hopper recommends doing the program for at least 6 months, to really make sure your brain has adequately changed. You are redirecting neural connections in your brain. it sounds complicated it's really not. It just comes down to AWARENESS and REPETITION.

In Europe where I'm from there are tons of population tests showing that iodine intake has halved since the 1970'ies, and 30% of people have a deficient urinary output of iodine below the adequacy range. I don't know about selenium, but aparantly if the soils are depleted of selenium it can aggravate iodine deficiency too, and cause AITD. Not only the thyroid needs iodine, also the skin, breasts, prostate and gonads. I would really like to see a study of the effect of low iodine supplementation, combined with selenium supplementation on Hashimoto's. It would be an interesting study, a group of hypothyroid patients supplemented with 300 mcg of iodine combined with a sufficient selenium status. Me personally I have TPO antibodies and untreated subclinical hypothyroidism, I have a suboptimal iodine intake according to cronometer in my average diet (around 100mcg). When I take a kelp and selenium supplement for a while I feel myself warm up, I get energy, clearheadedness and more healthy colour in my skin, I have read that this is because the iodine inflames and destroys the thyroid releasing hormones. I am scared but I am going to continue this.

I don't know where he got the information on Japanese iodine intake from but it's inexcusably inaccurate. On the left side, it gives a total maximum of around 20 milligrams per day and then on the right, it somehow converts that into a maximum of 3 milligrams. Given that this is the main basis for the argument it's very sloppy. I can't believe this has been left up for nine months.

Interesting question remains ununswered if iodinization process does not introduce simulatanously other pathogens like cyanide compounds (anti-clumper) and jodate salts. They are known to be toxic in any concentration. In EU now you cannot buy salt based on potassium jodide. Instead it is fortified with potassium jodate which is toxic on rat and mice studies even in the lowest doses (ng range). So these epidemiological studies may have registered epiphenonenon and other confounders. And what is RR or HR in these studies? Is this below or above 2? If it is below, then it may have no real clinical significance just statistical hum. This is golden rule standard for epidemiological studies. By the way, drinking water can officialy contain up to 0.3 mg/litre of chlorine. So 2 litres of such water blocks >600 ug of pure iodine?

I had thyroid symptoms for a long time, but never matching a single type of thyroid issue, as I do not have 'major' thyroid symptoms like goither, hairloss, weightloss etc. I have mixed hyper and hypothyroid issues, but no hashimoto's. Been tested for that as well. My bloodvalues were also not indicating a thyroid disease, eventhough my TSH was slightly elevated (has come down to normal after a few months, I think because of supplementing vit D in which I was deficient) all the others were normal. I took extra iodine, but was always scared to overdose it so maybe once a week just RDA plus whatever came in from food sources as I eat decent amount of fish, shellfish and often seaweed or seavegetables. Now since a while I am taking about 250% RDA iodine daily, mostly derived from kelp and I feel improvement. I take it together with a good quality bioavailable multivitamine and mineral mix that comes with co enzymes as well and is set on 100% rda for most nutrients except iron (lower) vit D (higher) and B12 (much higher). And as suggested by a specialist, also selenium, zinc and omega 3 in a somewhat higher dose than rda. He suggested this based this on my bloodtest results and symtoms, to preventive care for thyroid. I keep track of my intake via cronometer and adjust if necesary to keep my average weekly intakes in the right amounts. Its a fascinating world, for over a year I have been miserable and every nutrient has had its attention and fine tuning and after a year I feel Im stable at 90% improvement compared to the start of all this. Maybe iodine is the last one to be finetuned.

You basically rub the iodine solution on your wrist and it has to stay in 12 hours. If it get absorbed totally within 12 hours you have deficiency.
