Since I have had osteoporosis for many years, I've been practicing a lot of the tips you shared in the past for avoiding twisting and flexing the back, but I don't remember learning these. I am very glad to have them to further support my efforts at keeping my back as healthy as possible. Thank you!

Margaret, can I dance? There are so many twists and turns in partner dancing, cha-cha, swing, hustle - I miss that active part of my once social life. The Dr said i can do any activity he can do - but he isnt 2 inches shorter from spinal compression fractures in his lower spine...please, what is available to me?

have osteoporosis and compression at T12. I am seeing a PT as i recently had lumbar and thoracic back spasms. The pt has asked that I do side bends and twists to get mobility back. My mid back is stiff. I am having second thoughts because of what i am reading (must keep back straight). Should i be doing these exercises? I mentioned this to him and he said that it was ok as it is a slight bend and we need some flexibility.
