We recently did Mortal Kombat and thought it would be fun to also do Street Fighter, this movie is not perfect in anyway but it's bad that it's actually pretty damn good and we laughed so much!

Yup, this movie's all over the place. I think it was a good call going for a fun tone. But they included like 16 characters and didn't even center the film around a tournament to explain why they are all in the same place. So they had to shoehorn them and their in game appearances into a war/James Bond movie. They do get them into their game looks in clever ways and they range from pretty damn spot on (Zangief, Vega) to passable (Bison, Guile, Ryu) to downright laughable (Blanka, Dhalsim, T-Hawk). I personally feel there's a bit of cheesy fun to be had with it. Raul Julia carried the movie even while dying of cancer at the time. It's worth a watch just for him I'd say. It doesn't help that this movie was absolutely blown out of the water by Mortal Kombat a year later, which managed to pack it's movie full of kick ass fights, music, visual style and much truer faithfulness to the story and characters of the game.

You left out two of my favorite parts: Zangif and E. Honda on the security camera and DeeJay revealing the truth to Zangief. Also, just because it has to be said, Raul Julia makes this movie. The film may not have been a worthy final role, but the performance certainly was.

It's a bit sad that all Raul Julia will ever be to most younger viewers is M. Bison from Street Fighter. He was one of the most charismatic actors of all time, not just in The Addams Family, but also in The Rookie.

I've watched this movie so many times over the years, despite how average it is. Raul Julia was so, so good in this role and fitting that he gave such a villainous performance in his last film role. JCVD was such a star at the time, and physically was perfect for Guile despite not even attempting an American accent. The actress playing playing Chun-Li is better known to people now because of her roles on Agents of Shield and The Mandalorian. Wes Studi, Sagat, has always been a fantastic, Last of The Mochians, Heat, etc. And Byron Mann, Ryu, has been in Sky Scraper with Dwayne Johnson, featured on several episodes of Arrow, and was menacing as Silver Lion in Man with The Iron fists. I believe JCVD even turned down other roles to be in this. But he had this and Time Cop out the same year. You guys should check out Time Cop.

Say whatever you want but this movie, when it came out, for kids like me, playing Super Nintendo and, of course, Street Fighter 2 game (not even heard of Mortal Kombat during that period of time), was not only great, it was perfect. Today, yes, we can say, there are too many charecters, but then it was incredible to see all the characters we knew and loved (we actully didn't even know who Kami was, we played SF2 The World Warrior, and she was not in it). For a 10 year old kid this movie has everything - story, action, famous actors playing famous characters, explosions, jokes, good guys defeating bad guys, everyhing. Now, of course, a 40-year-old grown up man can't even call this a movie, it's not-that-high-budget B-movie with ridiculous plot, some miscasting, stupid dialogs and questionable action, but that 10-year-old kid inside him will always defend this great film and never forget what any videogame based movies ment for us back in early 90s. So Super Mario Bros the Movie, Street Fighter and, later, Mortal kombat, would always be masterpieces for which we always remain greatful and thankful. We had 'em and we loved 'em. Thanks for the childhood. Dont judge too much.

If it wasn't for Raul Julia as General Bison, this movie wouldn't have been as fun or even remembered for that matter. He's the stand out.

I will always have a special place in my heart for this movie. While you're digging on SF if you haven't seen it yet the SF2: animated movie is hekka good.

With all the random characters they shoe horned into this movie, some executive pitched "We can't justify Fei Long in this movie... but we gotta make sure Blanka is in it!"

It's not random. It's every playable character from Street Fighter 2 Alpha. Fei Long didn't exist yet.

@legionaireb Incorrect. It is all the characters from Super Street Fighter 2, except for Fei Long. Side note, alpha didn't come out until like 2 years after this movie...

The "Tuesday" line gets referenced most often (and people have proposed naming his horse in the new Street Fighter 6 Bison DLC trailer "Tuesday"), but my favorite is the "This is the collections agency and your ass is six months overdue" line best.

Wow! So we were big on Street Fighter 2 back when I worked at Chuck E Cheese, as I was one of the top local players, but also part of a group that were the top players on the east coast. We had a theater that our store would trade tokens and pizza for free movie nights and this was one of the movies we watched the day after Christmas
