Honestly I’m glad the Hail Hydra thing exists because that comic panel alone kind of sums up 2016 perfectly. Also it gave us a hilarious joke on endgame, I’m surprised it hasn’t turn into a meme. “When the bowl says take one but you take two candies” *Hail Hydra*

I can definitely get behind that for AU fun times. I've read a Stucky fic where Steve is an eldrich-type squid monster who frees Bucky and kills everything that tries to hurt him.

"These are the tentacles your looking for" is another good one. It's about Steve being a tentacled healer that saves bucky after he was being used as a sacrifice/offering to him. I also like Whip Crack by Quarra.

I've read a few stories where Cap and Bucky are both are brainwashed assassins in HYDRA's control. What I liked about it was that they didn't have their memories, but still develop a powerful bond despite it. I didn't realise it was a somewhat common thing! I'll keep an eye out for more. Also, your Trash Party dancing Chris made me laugh 😂

yeah, this one missed me completely but i knew of darkStucky. i found my limit of darkfic though in the a fic where Sam has actual wings grafted onto him in a an underground torture mine. it was a lot. only fluff from now on.

I'm still fucking salty about how Steve ended up in Endgame and I'm more than ready to ignore the MCU for a while or just give Bucky someone who actually loves him and thinks he is the most important person on this world. Not even a single word to the guy he fought for so hard when he came back to give Sam the shield. So much build up and then they do them so dirty. Even if you only see it as a friendship this was bad.

Also Dark Stucky isnt really my cup of tea all the time. I normally stan angst and evilness buuuuut I literally cannot live without my soft American boi Steve and him taking care if sad hurt Bucky. But like when they're both evil or when the roles are reversed I kindaaaaaa don't always like seeing or reading that. I didn't read the Hydra Cap run but I knew of it and how mad people were and when they had him say Hail Hydra in End Game I laughed really loud. Personally I love my dark fics but haven't had a chance to read dark stucky with Hydra!Cap as I mostly have read angsty stucky...

Hydra!Steve vs Main!Steve for Bucky or Tony had always been my favorite scenario. Especially the fanarts. Those are the bombs 👌❤ But Hydra!Steve and Bucky x Main!Tony is still my favorite when it comes to Dark!Steve related fics.

This sounds like an interesting concept that I hadn't previously considered. What I love about the Bucky Natasha dynamic in concept is the way it allows exploration of a side of Bucky's character which isn't really addressed all that much, and just the overall aesthetic is something that no matter how deeply I enjoyed Steve's dynamic with him always seemed kind of impossible by the nature of the pairing. Introducing the idea of some kind of "Dark Side" to Steve solves that quite neatly for me and puts the cherry on top for a complete image in my head.

I'm definitely with you on the whole uniform kink thing, Steve in that black and red version of his uniform is aesthetically pleasing and hot, the color scheme is just great and nice to look at for whatever reason. I had so many issues but the only 2 scenes that didn't upset me were Captain America wielding Thor's Hammer and his hail hydra scene. It was a great jab at the comic arc. Aesthetically Hydra Stucky is great and it is fascinating to ser characters who are virtuous go dark, at least from a story telling point of view.

Never saw Endgame or Infinity War, though I had a general idea of what happens through fandom osmosis. One of the positives of this POV with fan works is there is a less tragic outlook to Stucky or Stony or others, leaving a sort of all around appreciation, weither canon or AU, for however fanworks embrace or reject canon events, and pulling in other media, like comics or TV series is easier to accept from a mixed media source.

I don't think I have ever read a fic with a dark!Steve, but I have read one with a dark!Bucky pretending to be good and Steve and the whole team are fooled. Even Tony who tries to play friend with him until Bucky shows his true colours to Tony and nobody believes Tony when he tells them. Angst and whump and some other not so pleasant stuff happens to Tony in secret by evil Bucky. I know Bucky eventually gets found out but I don't remember if there was a happy ending or if the fic was even completed. I have read a Merlin fic with a dark!Arthur and dark!Morgana who are in a sweet OT3 with Merlin who they are very protective of. I remember they corrupt Merlin somewhat but he still stays the sweet bean that he is. It was surprisingly fluffy for a dark!Character fic. I mean dark Arthur and Morgana were still better than Uther.

I love Stucky so much tbh. Dark Stucky is probably my favorite thing in the world. Not the main point of the video, but I remember being so conflicted between Stucky and Stony after Civil War. That was before I realized multishipping was a thing. (I was relatively new to fandom) Now Stony is sort of a fond, distant memory. Also, question, have you done a video on Sam/Steve/Bucky or Sam/Bucky or Sam/Steve? If so, I missed it and will watch the hell out of it. If not, do you plan to? I just find that dynamic interesting and it’s one of my favorite OT3s, I love all the combos of two that can come from it as well.

Dark versions of characters can definitely be fun, tho tbh I didn’t really get into hydra!Cap (something to explore definitely). I think looking at comics and media in relation to the real world definitely varies by subject matter and context. A fan shouldn’t be pressured to do this, but it can make for interesting discussions.
