All the belt hacks and the dress/shirt hack the best but all were good. The elastic front shirt sweater tuck is great too.

Hi Alyssa! Thanks for a great video. So handy! I’ve a few other hacks. Shoe stretchers for shoes that are a bit too tight, necklace extenders to adjust the necklines, attaching a scarf & or a pearl necklace to add a new point of interest to handbags, wearing a t shirt over a high neck blouse to layer up.
@jljanicelavergne93674 жыл бұрын
Nike bought Cole Haan and changed the sizing. I bought two cute pair of fancy sneakers on clearance before figuring it out. They took the height out of the toebox. If your feet are shaped like a goose beak they’ll fit. Do you think a stretcher adds any vertical stretch there? Is a stretcher the same thing as the mechanical shoe form?
@AlyssaBeltempo4 жыл бұрын
oh yes definitely those are great! The necklace extenders are great thanks for sharing! xx

I do the pony tail hack to create draping on my jersey maxi skirts, most often when I'm on vacation and want to create different looks from the same handful of pieces. I also bring the (elastic) waist of my maxi skirts over my bust and use a belt around my midsection to create a strapless, shorter dress with a blouson top, or step into the inside-out skirt with its waistband grazing my knees, belt it at the waist, and drop the hem over the belt to create an A-line midi skirt. Thank you for this video. It's always fun to see new ways to wear "old" pieces.

Wonderful Hacks. I tried the elastic band shirt tuck and the belted sweater this afternoon and they gave me options I'd been looking for with clothes I already have. Thanks Alyssa for keeping me happily satisfied with the clothes in my own closet.

Another great vid, Alyssa! At 5’3”, I have regularly used the maxi dress elastic hack. Not only does it change up the dress, it lets me wear different heel heights (wedges, flat sandals, etc.). I buy a bag of clear elastics each year and it seems to last 12 months. The other regular application of an elastic I use is to refresh hi-lo hem blouses. If you tuck up the “lo” back hem and then, pull the blouse forward and gather the fabric ponytail to the front or side and wrap the elastic. I love how a bit of manipulation gives us exponential options to our wardrobes. Your belt hacks are genius!

Thank you for these...love the elastics. Also, if you have an elastic that is in a similar shade to your belt...you can put it on the belt and bring it around until you reach the point where the excess (flapping ) portion of the belt is located. Just tuck the excess of the belt into the elastic.

If you want to hide a muffin top, get a wide belt and put it around where it fits best over your pants and blouson out your shirt or sweater. You may need to fiddle with it to get it just right. This way you can create a waistline wherever you want and the blouson effect can cover any “rolls” and still make you look tidy. Thank you for keeping me motivated to style it up during quarantine. It’s so easy to get lazy about it all when you are not socializing as much.

When you went for the sweater tuck trick by tying the front, I got vivid flashbacks to middle school when I would tie baggy t-shirts in the back the same way, usually resulting in a little duck tail everywhere I went! Perhaps it's time to reintroduce the duck tail in a more mature fashion as you instructed 🙂Delightful video. Bravo!

Can you use the epastic band knot at the waist line to create the illusion of a wrapped dress?
@AlyssaBeltempo4 жыл бұрын
hmm this is a great question ... i think it would have to be a much smaller knot so as not to stick out at the waist as that is usually a tighter part of a dress so you wouldn't be able to hide the knot as much as when it is at a voluminous part at the bottom of a dress/skirt ... worth a try though, just keep the knot small! :) hope this helps! xx

Yes, yes & yes...it's all in the details! A question about belts: I own two sets, those that fit around my waist (smaller) & those that fit around my hips (larger), but as I'm watching this, would it be easier/more practical to buy larger belts that fit around both parts of the body & simply add holes & use your looping techniques to make it fit around the waist? I would appreciate anyone's input on this dilemma, please!
