Күн бұрын

My Subaru Forester XT motor has lasted 147k hard miles, after losing compression on Cylinder #4 it was time to build a new engine. Without hesitation, Andrewtech Automotive was there ready to build a much stronger, forged engine.
Rather than showing you this process in an over stimulated video, we decided to simplify things a bit and cut out the excess. We filmed this entire video in silence so that you could hear the slew of different sounds that emit from an engine assembling process. We put a professional grade microphone up close to hear some quite amazing sounds that you wouldn't normally hear with your own ears. I'm very excited to release this ASMR style video, and I hope you enjoy!
Huge thanks to Andrewtech Automotive for dealing with me filming this engine build in silence and doing a great job! I'd highly recommend them if you're looking to have an engine built.
Also, special thanks to TurboXS for helping make this engine something that I can rely on!

@@brodymci8258 In fact, it is a very good engine, not only for it's characteristics, but also the "low gravity center" profile that provides in the car a boxer engine. Of course you muricans, don't know how to make good engines, just big, with 98234928374 fuel gallons per mile and the same performance of a 1.6 turbo baguette french engine.

@@polostone8876 It plastigauge, the crankshaft is torqued to spec and it compresses the string. Then you remove the crankshaft again and look how stretched the string is using the measuring tape you saw in the video. A certain amount of stretch relates to a certain clearance between the shaft and the bearing. If this is not in spec you must sand down the bearing or buy bigger ones. As a fan of Mopar and Muscle cars in general, I am forever fascinated by the size of these Subaru engines. They pack such a powerful punch while they are so compact. The only thing I can really relate to this is my v45 Honda Magna, but even then, that's a MOTORCYCLE!!!! This engine is going in a whole car! Incredible. Thanks for the awesome tear down video. Interesting to learn new things about engines that I have never even figured I would work on before let along see the inside of at all.

12 months ago, I never would have thought that I'd be appreciating this kind of stuff. Now that I work for Subaru, I find beauty in the boxer. Granted, I'd still love this kind of content if it were any other engine. Quality work there, lads. Quality work.
@SavouryLobster
@SavouryLobster 5 жыл бұрын
Hah, what beauty? It's a horrible engine that has been in use for way too long. Subaru doesn't care though cause they probably make more money off servicing them than selling the actual cars.
