Japanparts will always get my business because I have been buying my parts from them for years. Yuki does a great job and he is awesome to work with when you need parts.

I had the same experience with Amayama packaging. Super, super good. I opened a customer case with them just to state that everything was so far beyond expectation that I wanted to thank them for their excellent work.

Amayama had all the door seals for my 30 year old Legacy. The shipping was high, so I waited. When I finally made the decision to just buy, they were gone. NLA. If they have the parts for older cars, just pull the trigger.

You did alright. I just had some tools delivered through Amazon Germany. I wish I took a picture. No need to get a box cutter, they fell out of the box from the side and DHL is usually good. I got some sweet tea and a seat in the shade for the next pack when it ships. You are definitely not alone on the bad buy on Ebay either. The mini truck will save you enough on gas you might take a road trip.

It's weird. Most tools I order from Germany come destroyed, well, the shipping box.

@@MrSubaru1387 The employees at G. companies are no longer G. So it all depends on the crew they have. The quality of service went down in general. Especially now when their Eastern neighbor is doing very well financially it is harder for the G. to access good employees for cheap.

Japan is not the only country where parts get scares after 10 years. I work on Ural Russian motorcycles an the manual fuel petcocks are NIS .. I owned a 1959 ford truck in 1972 and when I had to Waite a month for a rebuilt starter I gave up..

Used both Japan Parts and Amayama for the last decade of so, we have a local Amayama outlet here in Australia, which is great because it means really reasonable freight prices, I usually pay $10 delivery, but it’s up to a month wait on rarer parts. Japan Parts are great for performance parts in particular but their freight charges on a larger parts are obscene, for example wanted to order a front lip, part cost $300, freight cost was $1200. Totally laughable,.
@iamram933 жыл бұрын
Im in Aus as well and like Amayama and Partsouq (most on here is never available). On average I'm getting 2 month delivery times to VIC from Amayama. I'm starting to wonder if its faster to just get it delivered to USA and freight it to Aus
@sneakyfoz36923 жыл бұрын
@@iamram93 yeah I also use Partsouq as well, going back maybe 6-7 years ago when Partsouq were relatively unknown freight cost were cheap, delivery only took 3 days from UAE. Freight cost have doubled if not more with them, Amayama still cheap but freight delivery times make it not feasible unless you plan well ahead and accept the wait. Japan Parts you are really limited to small items unless you can get your head around the epic freight cost.
@Kaffarov973 жыл бұрын
@@sneakyfoz3692 Partsouq will surprise you with hefty duties and taxes when the item is delivered, but they are very fast and all genuine so I still order from them.

Are most Subaru models sold in America 1:1 to Japan units? Or are there typically a bunch of differences?

I'm interested in buying a Subaru Sambar. For oil changes, and headlights, can those be purchased in the usa without having to get parts from these sources you're mentioning in this video? I'm basically asking if routine maintenance is reasonably do-able. Thanks!

If it's not broke, don't fix it. And you don't go around with a go pro stuck to your head. If you hadn't already did it, I will send you a tool for Christmas if you did the tear down and inspection of the flip car engine. Some things need the thorough Mr Subaru touch. Just break down and assessment.

Supposedly, the Australian and European model Foresters, with higher towing limits than the US versions, have a supplemental CVT cooler. Is this true ? If so, might I source the parts from the sources on this video ? Oops, checking both sites, neither have the current generation of models.

Shipping cost is a killer. There are quite a few used 2nd gen JDM Legacy Touring Wagon OEM and aftermarket performance parts that I can buy dirt cheap, like a stainless steel cannonball muffler for $50 or so, but it would cost over *$500* to ship it(!!)
