You know, Loot Crate always reminds me of stuff you see at the checkout line of Spirit of Halloween stores. It's always stuff themed around franchises that aren't necessarily relevant anymore, but have cult followings. It ranges from passable to good quality, and sometimes you find a real gem. For non-Americans: Spirit of Halloween is a store that's owned by Spencers (which is a gag gift store you find in malls, lots of weed, sexual, and pop culture related shirts and trinkets) that pops up in September, renting out an empty big box store location, and selling variable quality Halloween costumes and accessories. They stick around til Halloween, then sell everything they have left at massive discounts (50% off on November 1st, 60% on the 2nd, etc.) until they're sold out and disappear until next year.

Haven't watched yet, let me guess the Loot Crate. -Obligatory T-shirt of something that's currently popular with an admittedly cool design. Most likely Superhero related. - A tacky looking cutesy bug headed sculpture of a character that shouldn't be cutesy and big-headed. -Winter is here, so maybe some reasonable quality gloves. Going to take a stab in the dark and say they'll be a reference to an anime. -Of course, the obligatory pin that makes Staurt compliment how they've improved, probably a late horror themed one.

They take up easily an entire wall of a very limited space, and my local doesnt bother getting new stock of anything else because pops are the ones that sell. They also all seem to be turning into spots for people to play card games which takes up sales floor as well. Every Netherworld and Worlds apart seem to be going this way and its depressing. I used to be able to go in and find 3 or 4 awesome things, now Im lucky if I find one.

Every month I keep confusing Akibento for the snack crate box (because of it's stupid "weeb" name) that you use to do/sometimes do and I get hungry... but confused when it reveals anime stuff! Also it was funny of Ashens to pick the One Punch Man Robot guy, "Genos" as the main villain, when he is actually the Robin of the series/ One Punch Man's side kick. He does look like a villain, but it just makes it all the more funny.

I really like the No-Maj hat. It's comparatively subtle, has a bit of design, and looks high quality as far as these things go. The O is even a picture of a wand with a "nope" sign across it. Same with the wand book, it's super niche and aimed at superfans of the HP universe, but I count myself as one of them.

Those socks remind me of the Marks and Spencers licensed socks of out-of-date cartoons that used to be available in the children's section in the 90s. In the store they looked great because cartoon characters, but wear them at school and feel the shame. I hated my Super Mario Bros socks but felt really bad for anyone whose mum's bought them Hulk and Superman briefs. But thanks, Loot Crate, for bringing that unpleasant aspect of growing up into adulthood!
