I hope this year was the best Christmas of your life! In the last week over 100,000 new subscribers joined this channel. And it's still going... I can't explain how grateful I am to you. I was shocked beyond belief. Like seriously shocked 😄 but thrilled. Some people asked if I'm quitting my job. Nope. I think it's important to keep working, learning, and growing. God bless you all. Merry Christmas. Show my friend Sam some love here: m.kzbin.info

Is there another way you can create interesting content instead of doing it with clickbait-y titles like Xiaomanyc does? Absolutely nobody is "shocked" or "surprised" anymore when he speaks Chinese; everybody in Chinatown NYC knows who that guy is. Likewise, even though they may not be subscribers (yet), countless thousands of KZbin viewers in Japan know who you are now. Maybe take your viewers on trips all over Japan, show them the cuisine, etc. especially since it looks like tourists won't be allowed in anytime soon. All the best in 2022!

three reasons why japanese doesn't make good friends: first, they makes zero efforts to speak other languages and anyway when we try to speak japanese they laugh at our accents and they don't forgive bad pronounciations secondly, they refuse to show their feelings no matter how polite, kind and respectful we are. just because they refuse to put us in their friendship circle (in fact it's only when they get drunk, it's pathetic) and thirdly, they love to criticize the others in their back. they judge them without knowing them, they don't give us any chance. they don't tell our mistakes, how can we improve ourselves. i like japan, for what it has naturally, but i do not get why its locals are so well seen in the world.

This warmed my heart so much, I actually had tears haha. I met a Japanese girl on a language learning app and I was focusing to learn Chinese, but when she came into my inbox, she said she came on because she was lonely, so to cheer her up I was googling Japanese and speaking for her. They are so kind, I hope nobody feels lonely. Thank you Oriental Pearl. Everyone I have spoken to on the app, I always say your channel as motivation.

I had a mentor who asked at the beginning of a session to all the students -"What is your ultimate goal in life ?" Most of the students replied with some career choices, being financially independent etc etc. But at last he told "It's good to have goals but ultimately what everyone should strive for is to be happy at present." Happiness is a simple thing that most of us forget to pursue.

@@GabrielSantos-ru9bx My personal experience, I probably have the skill level of a kindergartener with my Japanese: I can say phrases, but I can NOT hold a conversation or say a sentence with more than 2 ideas on it (i.e "you turn right at that corner and then look for " is a MONUMENTAL task for me to say without sounding like a retard or someone with speech impediment). That said, the Japanese I've talked to were VERY patient with me... seeing that I don't look Japanese. The fact that a foreigner is trying their best to learn their language is enough for most of them to figure out what youre trying to say, no matter how broken it sounds. Nowadays, it's much easier since translation apps are much more accurate and many of them have one installed in their phones, so your worst WORST case scenario is to pull that out and speak with it Good luck with interacting with them! I'm still learning the language (I think I'm now at elementary level? I hope...) and im hoping to be able to hold a full convo some time in the future... hopefully within the year!

This really brings back memories of a few similar experiences I had. When I was just turning 21 I lived in Okinawa for 2 years. I eventually made friends with people and they would take me out to town, all while trying to teach me the language and everything. Me being an American that could barely speak any Japanese, everyone was still so polite and fun! I never went out during Christmas much, but Halloween was where it was at. I remember Strangers coming up to take photos and try to speak with me, as well as just hang out and have a good time. The atmosphere is completely different from the States. My heart aches knowing that those times of me being there are past. But seeing videos like this one gives me the motivation to try and learn Japanese once more, and to find myself back over there in the future. Thanks for the great vids!

I started watching this channel years ago when it was still fresh. I remember the view count per video was all over the place and the channel was just criminally underrated for a while. So glad to see the subscriber numbers and view counts now! Anming really deserves the recognition for great content!

Hey Anming love the video. I found your channel while I was quarantining with covid and I loved them. I am currently in my fourth year studying Japanese at my high school. While I’m not amazing it’s still lots of fun and seeing your videos only encourage me to work even harder. Seeing cool stuff of foreigners in Japan keeps my hopes up on learning my self. And with you being from the Detroit area just like me, it gives me even more hope! Lots of love, thanks
