Well Robin, I'm watching this tutorial again, and I see where I commented two months ago. Well since then (two months ago) I been practicing this lesson. And now after those two months have passed, using this lesson, I have finished the three most difficult puzzles in my sudoku book. No other You Tube tutorials have explained this rule/technic and made it as understanding as you have. Now I'm left with learning other tools that will allow me to finish these difficult puzzles faster. Thank you, Robin.

Wow, found this tutorial very helpful when working extreme puzzles. Have observed hidden matching pairs but did not know they could be treated as such. 3x3 and 4x4 totally new concept. Hello Lisa Locked little numbers are found in tutorials 79 to 99. If you watch these videos you will understand, as I explain locked little numbers many times. Sorry I am not sure what you mean. If you mean matching pair then each cell has similar 2 little numbers. When one of them is solved then you have solved the other cell as well. I hope this helps.

What this highlights to me is the need for a physically larger puzzle than those I find in newspapers, there isn't sufficient room in the cells to clearly identify the little numbers.

At 10:53 of your video, why did you choose the "36" pair in the column and not the "36" pair in the row of the block? This is where I always go wrong because I seem to choose the wrong pair. Please explain...

The 3/6 is in the column and in the block means that any other 3 or in the block or column can be removed. Robin

question, after getting the 9 would then the 1-8 be a double or is the 1-8 part of the triplet, even though it seems clearly a double, I am finding doubles that are clearly matching yet they are not a true double. I see if the 1-8 is seems your left with 2- 7's and then you got a problem, and that would show it is not a 1-8 seems can be tricky

Matching Pairs , I have found on a Hard Sudoku matching pairs do not work. In a block i can have a 12 side by side in two separate boxs but when I enter a 1o2 i get a different number ?

Sorry let me help you, You can have several matching pairs in a row column or block. As you continue to solve they will suddenly become solvable. Matching are essential for all puzzles which are very hard. Look at my tutorial from 79 up to see. These are very difficult puzzles. Re matching pairs /triplets. Please explain the logic whereby one can remove any other numbers in the row or square that are not part of the matching pairs. I cannot find your explanation for the rule anywhere. Thank you for the good brain exercise.

*Please stop and explain* Around 19:50, when looking for triplets, why is the top right 578 not joined with the 578 bottom center? What rule keeps this from being true? Around 22:00 why is the 25 and 253 not a matching pair that then excludes the 3 leaving a 25 25; rather than the left 25 being part of a triplet 25 27 and 59? Doing the 25 25, drops the 2 from the 27, leaving just a 7, that drops the y from the 79 leaving a 9. This in turn drops the 9 from the 59 leaving a 5. All of this leaves a 2 on the left from the 25 and making that a big 2 drops the 2 from the remaining 23 and your left with a 3. And so on until the 4 and 8 are left? So the question is, why the wired triplet?
