As a type 1 diabetic I frequently get asked if I can have pizza or coke or stuff like that. Sure I can but I try to avoid as it is hard to control my bloodsugar afterwards. But what most people forget is that this is stressful for every body. It is as hard for your body as for a diabetic to control your insulin and bloodsugar levels. Eating whole foods and exercise is helping your body a lot in doing this important job.

No one is telling you to avoid sweets all together. A cookie every now and then in addition to a well-balanced diet and exercise is fine. Some sugar incorporated in your diet won’t spike your sugar levels that much and your body has systems in place too. Everything in moderation, that’s the key.

As an MSW, MPH grad student, I received a grant to help lower childhood obesity in a low-income community. Part of my project was a presentation to a group of future health care professionals (rising seniors) about the dangers of overconsumption of processed sugars, specifically how advanced glycation end products cause wrinkles/skin sagging and the students looked at me like I was crazy. thank you for sharing this info! more people need to realize the effects of lifestyle behaviors/modifications on mental & physical health ♥️

My dad is diabetic but has amazing skin. He's always had good skin genetics, NEVER used moisturizers. When he first got diabetes i could see how it affected him skin wise. But i also think his amazing skin currently is because he got his diabetes under control, and avoids processed sugar and eats a healthy diet. I also think my skin was at its best during the beginning of the COVID pandemic because i just ate homemade food lol

I am very happy that you made this video. In your earlier videos you only made comments about milk and never talked about sugar. People buy the latest and greatest product that will help them with acne rather than eliminating sugar and processed foods to see if it helps. I had a coworker who complained about adult acne on face and back and said "nothing works". As soon as she quit sugar, all her skin problems went away. Glowy skin is a result of healthy body.

@luckychonk9527
@luckychonk9527 4 жыл бұрын
@@TheeWatchWoman Note: only drink half because 1 tablet of VitC has 1000mg of VitC (at least my tablet does). Your body doesn't really need that much. On average a human body needs 250mg a day to function, 1/4 of a VitC tablet. Drinking half a tabelt (500mg) ensures that im ingesting more than normal so my skin can benefit but not so much that its excessive. Anecdotally it's been working v well.
@luckychonk9527

I’ve been drinking athletic greens for the past year and a half! Gives me amazing energy and I also add my protein powder to it with unsweetened almond milk(4oz water 4oz almond milk). I took 90% of white sugars out of my diet more than 4 years ago, as well as all animal meat (due to high cholesterol) and brought my cholesterol down over 100+pts after just 4 months of eliminating meats and saturated fats. Changes in diet are difficult but SO important to your well being!

I heard the fructose from fruit also causes glycation and we should limit the intake because fruit has been genetically modified for size and sweetness. Also dried fruit causes glycation because the water has been dehydrated and that causes the sugar to be more concentrated. All this is fascinating!

What is annoying is that I’m told to wear sunscreen on my whole body and apply it multiple times a day when that’s just not possible with my lifestyle but I’m scared of aging , as well as the smell of sunscreen sucks and it getting in my eyes burns . What do I DO?!

25 years ago I asked my derm at the age of 14 if chocolate/sweet causes acne. They said absolutely not. There was no Internet so I believed him :( Then the Internet was available. I remember all those old acne forums with random people and "quacks" with random theories about what causes acne. There was some bad theories (saturated fat clogs your skin) but the sugar-theory caught on. The first time I tried a low-glycemic diet (suggested on these forums) the effect was magical. My skin literally transformed in days.

Hi i had the worst acne until I cuted sugar and my horrible cystic acne gone and the fatty cheeks I used to have disappeared within 5 days. I feel more peaceful. I'm from Belgium. Good luck everyone. This is what I was doing: -Eating full of protein (eggs, chicken, tono) with no limit. - along with vegetables ( preferably green) - a glass of full fat milk everyday or when i had sugar craving - my plate was 50% vegetables 40% proteins and 10 % fat ( cheese, oil) And I want to continue because I feel mentally better. I saw on a report that sugar is actually worst than any other drugs. I didn't know govt was hiding us that sugar were a legal drug. Good luck everyone one i strongly not recommend fake sugar such as aspartame and others they are just worst than original sugar. If you are really craving sugar eat fruits with limit like 2 maximum or a big banana but full fat milk definitely stop the craving. Good luck all.❤️

I noticed that my acne gets worse when I drink alcohol. I'm not drinking the tuffstuff, either 1 or 2 beers or 1 or 2 glasses of wine usually with or after dinner. It is really drying for the skin, and especially since I am in my late 30s I notice it on my skin, my joints and my voice (I am a metal singer)! I also have a sweet tooth and I love chocolate. Guess I should be more responsible on that. Edit: I love your channel! Your videos are science based and really informative. And I find you are talking in a nice but also straight way. I sometimes feel really scolded, but in a good way. Please keep it up!

There are a lot of spiked seltzer’s that only have a gram of sugar or less, if you choose to drink alcohol these are a much better option than beer or mixed sugary drinks! My favorites are Vizzys or Trulys, definitely look into those.

Hi, I enjoy your videos, very informative. I am a plant based, 90% raw eater so always looking for an easy way to get extra greens. Was very excited to follow up on the Athletic greens. Dissapointed it has stevia in it, besides not liking the taste, stevia elevates your blood sugar levels. If you have type 1 diabetes you cannot have stevia. Keep the videos coming.

Don’t think of it for a single meal, think of it for the entire day. One TBSP of maple syrup in your oatmeal is NOT a bad thing. If you are having that, along with candy, cake, processed sugary white breads, high sugar pastas sauces etc. a lot throughout the day then you need to cut back. A little is ok, it’s when you overdo it that’s a problem.

Maybe try dates? I use 1-2 dates per bowl of oatmeal. I chop them up (I buy pitted dates, usually around the produce section) and put them in the water while it’s boiling. By the time my oatmeal is done, the dates just blend right in and sweeten it nicely.

The one major difference i noticed was my energy levels, nearly completely quitting consuming processed sugars gave me an insane energy boost that would last all day, i had to completely quit coffee, the amount of contrast is strictly speaking absurd, i went from sleeping 10 to 12 hours a day when i could, to just 7 while being more awake then I've ever been since i was a kid...I used to feel incredibly fatigued no matter how much i slept, in fact it felt like i never had enough sleep, sugar turns your body to shit point and simple i used to be the guy who ate and drank whatever i wanted but i didn't even realize the difference it could make until i quit.
