💖👍😍 Yes, please: a video dedicated to glycation. Today I typed "penn.smith glycation" on YT because I am beginning to have that above my upper lip, and this 1 year old video came up. I would be very happy to hear about a more recent video dedicated to this topic. I do avoid sugar and desserts and am working towards a ketogenic diet as I know sugar and carbs cause inflammation in the body and cause the body (inside and out) to age.

Hi Beautiful! Yes, a video on glycation would be awesome! I have been battling the deep wrinkles around my mouth, I believe that one reason for not having any success in eliminating them has to do with glycation or Solar elastosis. I have that weird looking skin around my mouth as well as wrinkles. I do not eat a lot of sweets but diabetes runs in my family. I also used to adore the sun ….with baby oil…. Yup! In my research so far I found 2 topical that promise to break up those chains. Vivier (skinBEAUTIFUL recommends it) and Alumier. This skincare language is soooo above my pay grade!!!…. I am learning but the time I’m fluent I’m too old or dead! Lol I also believe that many of us have this problem without knowing it and that’s why wrinkles form around the mouth that won’t go away. A deep dive into that rabbit hole would be awesome!!!

This is a great subject about AGE's and glycation and I think a review of these important issues would be fantastic if you could dear Penny, Love you Penny!!!

Are ALL types of sugar damaging to the skin? I mean is their any distinction, for example, between the sugar in fresh fruit and the sugar high fructose corn syrup? At least fruit also has anti-oxidants and vitamins. I’d think not all sugars are equal and that some are better than others. Or perhaps the skin doesn’t distinguish between sugars. I love sweets, but have cut back. I did increase fresh fruits/veggies in my diet though because I wanted the anti oxidants properties. 😉

I am a sugarholic. Yes, my face looks similar to the pictures in your video. Can it all be reversed if I start eating right and use products topically as mentioned or will it only stop it from getting worse?
@elenacassandracastorpollux144 жыл бұрын
It will stop it from getting worse surely but sugar include complex carbohydrates pizza pasta etc. Limit the amount of the above and always choose wholemeal or partially substitute with chick peas green peas lentils and steamed vegetables oily fish and white meat. On the skin hexapeptides can help but also copper peptides should be helpful because if they can remodel scars means they remodel badly arranged collagen fibre. Take natural silica supplements - I take a brand called "Silicea" as the role of silica us to aid in the building of healthy collagen fibres as opposed to misshapen. Remember that the damage you see on the skin is also inside bones muscles etc. Take a good hair skin and nails supplement as even bones are connective tissue (4 5 dried prunes a day are said to re density the bones by 11% in a year and is cumulative) milk or soy milk or other milk make sure they contain calcium phosphate or tricalcio phosphate or triphosphate calcium as is the only time our body recognises and uses to build bones (and skin) and vit d. Dich the sugar your digestion will also emprove

@gingertunstall77394 жыл бұрын
That was such a timely video. I think it is also very important to note that it is not simply sugar that is the problem in AGE. All refined carbs and high glycemic index carbs act just like sugar in the body. Your research on using peptides with L-ascorbic acid was very helpful but I admit I still find the contradictory info out there frustrating. The Ordinary advises not to use their peptides with L-ascorbic acid, the Dr you researched apparently concurred with that but then Drunk Elephant, when I contacted them about using their Protini Cream with L-ascorbic acid, answered back that there was no problem whatsoever. I wish there were an independent source for this rather than those with peptide products they are selling. Sigh......
@PENNSMITHSKINCARE4 жыл бұрын
I SO agree that the contradictory info is incredibly frustrating! That said, when I researched beyond a particular vendor (who would have a reason to sway one way or another) the chemistry suggests to me (the non chemist) that mixing C and copper renders them useless. I’ll try and find the sources and share them with you (although I feel like I was all over the web lol). I am much more inclined to buy in to dr Pickart’s theory’s than the people at drunk elephant though I will say. 😊

Is there a treatment you suggest for skin over 40 that’ll make a real difference in crows feet , hooded lids and crepey under eyes with deep tear troughs ? I’ll try the antioxidants. Gave up the sugar except once a week or so I allow myself a small treat . That’s it . Thank yo so much 🥰. I feel better cutting out sugar . Less achy and more energy.

Oh man... Am now totally regretting having eaten a “whole” bag of cotton candy this afternoon while visiting the zoo. :-0

Eat some high quality cheese if you crave sugar. It helps me with my cravings, since some cheese naturally has a sweet flavor to it. Unless its in my head. LOL I also made a huge batch of chicken foot stalk to have as a collagen supplement to save money. I just keep it in my fridge and add it to eggs with butter and it is very good and cheaper than collagen supplement, and it is probably more bioavailable anyway. What is also great is you can reuse the chicken feet a few times later to make more broth. So it will provide major savings and is already cheaper than supplements. Yum and when you drink the chicken foot broth warm with even just only a little salt it is very tasty, relaxing, and will relieve you're stress before bedtime.

Hi Penny! Love your Channel and your endless stream of wisdom ❤️ I live in Scandinavia and im interested in learning how much harmful UVA-radiation in fact can reach my skin when the UV-index is 0,1-0,3 (the level from mid oct. to mid march in the Nordic countries)? Is it even necessary for me to wear SPF with that low of a UV-index? ☀️ I find SPF-lotions to be comedogenic and I am acne prone, but also am battleing hyperpigmentation on my forehead and cheeks after many years of tanning.

I have a dr Penn a1. It has a cord but is very long. Do you think is obsolete junk? It seems to work OK but it is the only pen I have and I cannot compare it with others. Enjoy your mum and your sister!!😊

Hi Penny! First - thx for the Video 💜 May I can ask a question... 😊 You mentioned that low mollecular hyaluroninc acid isn't the best choice with microneedling because of inflamation. How can I see on a product if high or low mollecular hyaluroninc acid is used. Thank you very much and greetings from Austria, Alex

Hello Penny! Love, love your videos!!! I have purchased many of the products you have spoke about over the past month & would love if you could give me a suggested schedule each day how I can use them since it is too many to always use each one daily. I have the following: COSRX Advanced Snail 92 All in one Cream, Cos De BAHANiacinamide, Cos De BAHA HA, IUNIK Beta-Glucan Power Moisture Serum, SUKOYAKA SUHADA Urea Moisturizing lotion, Dearskin Tranexamic Acid serum, Dearskin & Vit C. I love them all! I also ordered one of the Dr pens which I know you recommended to needle with the Dearskin Vit C....Thanks so much!!!

I am not good watching my diet. I believe this has led to an auto immune issue but that's another topic. I LOVE sugar. That being said I am 60 and feel my skin looks pretty good. Is it possible that having very oily skin helps to offset the effects of sugar? I am thinking that it does

Thanks Penny! I appreciate your work and dedication! I am 65 with cross hatched skin. They cross hatches are further apart, especially on cheeks. Not sure if I have Glycation or Solar Elastosis or it’s just my bone disease Osteogenesis Imperfectae. It is a collagen defective disease I was born with. My main question is if you do collagen building procedures ; micro needling, fibroblast, threads, will it just make it worse? What do you recommend?

Hi Penn, another brilliant vid. I thought you can infuse serum while needling or d/rolling? Have I been doing it wrong as i do put more HA on before 3hrs has passed.
@PENNSMITHSKINCARE4 жыл бұрын
Oh no you’re good! After 3 hours you can put *more* HA then an occlusive moisturizer :))
