This can be reduced to: white flour, white rice, processed sugar, & potatoes. Avoid processed meats like hot dogs, bacon, etc. Imagine deep fried potatoes slathered with sugar-laden ketchup (substitute air fried sweet potatoes & no-sugar ketchup, or just mustard).

Diabetes rates increased quite a bit when the A1C threshold was lowered. Many people that weren't diabetic became diabetic overnight when the A1C were changed. The same thing has happened to cholesterol and blood pressure. Diabetes rates also increased when the low fat diets were adopted to treat obesity. Turns out the low fat diets increased obesity due to high carbohydrates and much more added sugars in foods to replace dietary fat.

I'm in the UK so some of the figures we use are different to the US but I wanted to share that it can be done 😁 in under 4 months I've just received my results from an HBA1C on November 12th and they're non diabetic at 41 mmol/mol 5.9% back on July 20th they were 116 mmol/mol 12.9% when I was diagnosed. My cholesterol has come down to 5.2 from 6.7 and my blood pressure to 130/60 from 150/90 during the same time frame...not to mention the 50 pounds I'm lighter and 4 dress sizes smaller 😁 low GI carbs, no simple carbs, no added sugar, low saturates and no processed foods along with daily exercise has changed my life, great advice like this is so valuable!!! 💕

Great progress !! Happy to know about your journey to good health. Just a word on the reversal process: please do measure your fasting insulin levels too. While hba1c is the indicator of our glucose levels, insulin levels are the best indicators of insulin resistance. Ideally it needs to be less than 5 with an A1C less than 5 as well, when we can comfortably say we have reversed diabetes
@debbiewynne8108
@debbiewynne8108 3 жыл бұрын
@@jst1334 Thank you for your kind words 😊 The latest research shows that we can put diabetes into remission but it can't be reversed. It will always be in the background but it's possible to get to a place where it's having no impact on your health. As we measure blood sugar in the UK 41 is what someone who doesn't have diabetes would score on an HBA1C so it's classed as non diabetic, 43 - 48 is pre diabetic and 49 and above is diabetic. It's a little confusing that the uk and us don't use the same figures or method, universal would be an ideal

I’ll eat a small portion with meat and a leafy green salad with a ton of veggies and with oil and vinegar dressing. I’ve been on a low carb diet for about 5.5 months and have lost over 40 lbs! Not only that but I’m exercising a lot more than I ever was and now I’m not obese, overweight- I’m actually thin! Discipline pays off. My blood sugar is in check. Things are falling into place. Did you see the suggestion of synthetic vitamin b1? Its a derivative of thiamine. But fat soluble instead of water soluble like thiamine. I cant remember what its called but I just ordered some. It is supposed to help with neuropathy a lot and help your blood sugar. I have been taking Magnesium by Drs Best , serving size 2 capsule shaped pills daily for about 3 months and I forget them at times. But they have really decreased any pain in my feet !! I also take 5,000 iu of D3 with k2 daily and have as a help against covid but I think it helps neuropathy as well. Magnesium helps repair the protective sheath that covers the nerves which helps pain stop. I cant comment on the fat soluble b1 I mentioned yet but I praise the magnesium for sure. This type will not send you running to the bathroom with diarrhea. This brand is reasonably priced too. I hope you get some and it helps you. Just give it time. This is a patented formula . It says it helps support bone, heart, nerve and muscle health. My pain had not gotten to your level but I was having plenty of sharp pains at night and weird feelings. Now the weird stuff is gone and sometimes I have no pain at all. And sometimes I will get 3 or 4 sharp pains one or two times and they are gone. A couple of low grade sharp pains too. But it is almost gone. The bottle says high absorption. 2 pills give you 200 mg. The bottle has 240 pills. Get some vitamin C as well to repair your blood vessels. I used to take several grams a day. I wish I had never stopped. I am taking it again now. Im noticing poor circulation lately. I need to move more too. I also take L Lysine in high doses with my c to help clean my arteries. There is a study about that if you Google it. Might be a video on youtube. A good multivitamin would be good too as one vitamin needs the support of others. I hope this helps you. Amazon is where I get all my vitamins.

Thank you so much for this info!! I am a severely overweight, pre-diabetic 57 yr old with psoriatic arthritis that is out of control. I am finding my morning sugar levels creeping up without a diet change. So, I started watching your videos. I am convinced that my inflammation level affects my morning sugar levels, but I didn't know much about the foods that may be making the inflammation worse!! This all started in 2012. I went to Italy for 14 days and lost 10 lbs while eating everything but desserts. I felt amazing! Then, shortly after I returned and started eating the garbage in the USA, my whole body was hit with joint and skin inflammation. I am convinced that the super wheat GMOs here was a big factor. Well, short of moving, I need to find a way to live HERE and your information is a big help! I don't think I'll ever eat french fries again! Thank you and hopefully I will get healthier!

Not really true. Do you hav3 a garden? If you live in an apartment or somewhere that have no room for a garden I’m sure you have windows. After my divorce I moved to a apartment. We used the windows in my kitchen and one window in my living room to have an indoor garden using glass shelves. Before you say glass with kids, yes I had kids and it was never a problem. We grew tomatoes, carrots, peas, green beans, spinach, 3 varieties of lettuce, beets, and 8 different herbs. Later when we found a house for rent we were able to have a garden. But for the 5 years we didn’t have the land for a garden we used our windows that got the best sun. The one thing you need to be aware of is the moisture plants give off. When we were home we left the windows open 2” to allow the plants fresh air as well as allowing the moisture from the plants to escape outside so there was no damp problems. P.S. there are now also small hydroponic gardens that have grow lights for indoor gardens. There are even a handful of tabletop designs available. If you want healthy food without the high cost start a garden….where there is @ will there is a way. 😊

I stumbled into an ER, and they were super surprised I wasn't in a coma. 1AC of 12. Triglycerides at 2000 (docs said they had never seen that before). Fact is, I never used sugar or sugary products. Ate healthy and exercised. Yet kept getting sicker and kept gaining weight. Had a genetic condition for high triglycerides, which had poisoned my pancreas. Three years later, after a week in the ICU, my 1AC is 5.6 and my triglycerides are at 190. Lost 50 pounds. Food choices are vital! And discovering new things to eat which are easy to enjoy. LOTS of cauliflower based products out there: cauli sandwich thins, cauli tortillas, etc.... Zero net carbs, yet yummy.

Woke up about 8 days later and after 17 days left the hospital barely able to walk. A month later my a1c was back down to 6.0 and my blood sugar 90 day average is currently 130. This stuff isn't hard to keep under control but if you let it go it can really cause havoc. I wasn't expected to survive but the docs did a great job

Hi Doc I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2019. My mom and dad are diabetic and my maternal and paternal grandmothers were diabetic. I’m on Victoza and Metformin. My a1c is down to 6.4 and the highest it’s been was 7.3 but I have a bad sweet craving. Man I fail in every area you mentioned. Wow! 😞

My ex's mother had severe diabetes. She kept a giant bowl of candy on her kitchen counter. Also a ton of cakes and pies. She was hospitalized 5 times in the last 3 years of my relationship. i really like dried fruits, instead of eating by typical 1/2 cup-size or 30 gram weight-size portion, i count the actual number of pieces of the dried fruits to eat, as if the fruits are not dried. It is the way to do it.. for those who wants to eat such delicious food, but must watch the level of carbs / sugar consumed. Raisins .. 5 pieces or dried apricots 2..pieces per day.

Fresh salad, lightly stir fried vegetables & vegetable soup will help a lot with the constipation. There are a lot of different vegetables that are low in carbohydrates. Two of my favourites are fresh watercress in a salad, I like the slight crunchiness of the stems, & red pepper strips gently sauted in a little olive oil to soften them & bring out their natural sweetness. Raw carrot sticks dipped in houmous or soft cheese can be a nice snack but you could also try other raw vegetables for dipping.

Teresa, I was diagnosed with pre diabetes and blood sugar so high my hands and face were vibrating and was putting on massive weight. Rather than blindly black listing food based on youtube videos I ate regularly as an experiment and used a glucose meter to omit the worst offenders. Wheat bread, 2% milk, cheese, rice, potatoes in moderation and many other so called evil foods the doctor here black lists dont affect me. Soda, fruit juice and sugar free energy drinks were my issue. I eliminated 90% of obvious sugar sources and energy drinks, added a lot more veggies and lost 30lbs in 4 months. My drivers license ID doesn't look like me anymore. Procesed sugar, especially anything with fructose is poison, that's a given, but I'm tired of hearing how we can only eat diet water and broccoli with its skin removed. We are not digital copies of each other and in my case along with friends with diabetes we've had great results by cutting sugar hard and moderating breads and grains and greasy food and eating more veggies. Everybody is different.
