What size screws did you use?

I don't remember exactly. When drilling into the end grain of plywood they need to be as this as possible to avoid splitting. Mine wouldn't have been thicker than 3mm. Length depends on your dimensions. Looking back mine look to have been about 50mm long. Hope that helps

How old is your house. Are all your interior walls made from brick?

It's about 50 years old and yes most walls are brick!
