I totally agree with you about the actual photos. My Mother passed away about a year and a half ago. I have all the photos and slides that my parents took over the years and they mean so very much! Great project and another great video!

😊 🥹 it’s the , being able to hold the original photo that does something to our reminiscing ability . It means that much more . Some younger folks will never understand. And that’s ok , but man what a time to have lived during the Polaroid era. 🫡

Many years ago I worked with an old-timer who would occasionally give me some sage advice. One day, back when I was forty years old, I was complaining about my memory being worse than it had been when I was younger. He said my problem was that I could still remember that I used to remember things. He continued, that when I get to be his age, I won't recall remembering anything, so it won't bother me as much. I sure do miss him.

Memory loss is heartbreaking for both the one losing their memory and the family members taking care of them. My grandfather had early onset. It's kinda like Benjamin Button. Your mind fading backwards as your body ages. Really sucks. Sharing what you know and pics, telling your stories, becomes a thing of urgency. When you feel yourself fading away more and more. Be you always, bc you are cool just as you are. Absolutely love this vid D🔥💜🔥🥲🤘🏼😇

Great project and thoughts behind it. I really like the finished picture display and I am sure that it will be a great way to show a lifetime of high lites. It would be great for your friend to make a little history of each photo so that if his mom has a problem remembering he will be able to give her the stories behind the photos as needed. Thanks for sharing and have a great evening!

Nice inspiration for this project. Speaking of key slots. I made a simple jig for my trim router that ensures the slot start and ends at the same location. Easy peasy.

I was thinking of doing a jig set up but was in a time crunch . I wound up fixing the router table so good to go
@kenerickson4923Ай бұрын
@Bearded-Viking-WoodWorks that works too. I am normally use it for shelves or plack and want the slots referenced from the top. No measuring, and I make 2 slots at an easy distance apart.

You are exactly correct about memories. I know I've told you guys about the wreck I was in years ago that robbed me of a nearly photographic memory. It's a hard thing to lose. I do love the project. I've been trying to find something to make to hang all the coloring pages that my fiance colors for me. I may try this one out for sure

There is one more option for getting your strips cut. You can go to your local orange box store. If you get your wood from there, they will happily cut it down to your requirements. I'm looking all over for the marking wheel. I'm not having any luck - Google keeps coming up with incorrect results. Do you have a link for one? Great project 👍 ❤Thanks for sharing ❤

Greetings oh bearded one. If you put a strip of zero tolerance tape down for a straight cut will it work if you want to do an angled cut? Do you need a fresh piece for a straight 90° & then say a 30° angled cut?
@Bearded-Viking-WoodWorksАй бұрын
After you use it for a 90°It would work for the first angled cut . Then ya may want to change it
