I don't care for the movie personally, but these renders look phenomenal. I really appreciate the detail you tried to put into these, and I like the way you Mario-fied the meteorite shard lol I'm actually interested in seeing how you'd do other elements from the movie and make them look like the games, like Bowser and Daisy (like in that art you showed)

I believe if such a concept came into mainstream video game fruition confirmed by Nintendo then the movie would be praised and loved even more by audiences. I also love the art and designs being faithful to the movie but also being faithful to the games in terms of Mario, Luigi, Bowser, and the other characters' appearances as well. They combine and mesh so well perfectly together.

I love this idea. Oddly enough, I was just thinking of my own ideas for a video parodying the movie showing how the modern video game portrayals of Mario and Luigi would react to being in this film and handle all the crazy situations since I felt there was a lot of comedic potential (especially with Luigi's cowardly personality), then I happened to come across this. I look forward to seeing this fan film. My only concern is that I'm really hoping Nintendo doesn't have this project shut down because they've done this with various fan games and fan remade games such as Super Mario 64 HD, Legend of Zelda HD, Pokemon Uranium, most recently Super Mario 64 Online (though it didn't help that there was a Patreon account for it), and several more; plus there was a Metroid fan film that also got shut down (though I'm pretty sure the fact that it had a Kickstarter page played a big role in Nintendo going after it.)

Thanks to what you said that basically confirms that Nintendo back in the 80s and 90s was a pretty neglectful company to their properties and I’m going to guess after this movie was created they learn their lesson and regret it for leaving the project after giving them the rights and not be in control of it And right now in 2021 there is a new Mario movie that’s going to come out next year and Nintendo is in control of the project this time and they’re gonna do it right this time

Another way is to do a Street Fighter: The Movie: The Video Game. Yes, there was a Game based off a movie, based off a game. especially of the era. Mprtal Kombat and SF:TM;TVG used digital capture sprites of live actors. Imagine if Bob an Jon in a SNES game of the SMB movie. That was my ersion of this back in the day,

this movie, like He-man and he masters of the universe live action movie are not the same as the content that inspired them and that's ok. As a kid, watching the MOTU movie I thought that this is how he would look in real life. Then this came out and I applied the same logic.
