If you've never tried red velvet cake with ermine frosting, you have to give it a go - atleast once! I made your red velvet cake for my step-daughter and her husband since they are fans of red velvet. The feedback I got from the husband was it was the best cake he has ever eaten in his whole life! I made a German buttercream, similar to ermine, but with a pastry cream base rather than just the milk custard. Thanks for such a great recipe. I have tried other red velvet recipes but this one has been the best and given the high praise, I won't be looking for any others.

the hint for crinkle top u must beat the eggs & sugar until it bcomes pale, it will give u a perfect crinkle top & don't overmix the batter after adding the dry ingredients, just combine until well mixed

Good afternoon MK, I just got finished eating a slice of this cake after making it earlier this morning and it was very delicious. Every cake of yours that I have tried so far were very phenomenal and they were all very moist. This was my first time making ermine frosting as years ago I was skeptical of it because to me a boiled milk with flour was very off putting. So fast forward years later I decided to give it a try because it was one of your recipes and I realized after making several homemade vanilla puddings that it was essentially the same thing bit with lots of butter and I loved it. The light chocolatey moist and tender cake, paired with the light and fluffy not too sweet frosting was the cherry on top. I am so glad I decided to give this frosting a chance thank you for sharing the recipe 😘😘😘😘
