@@FrankStephensondesignAre there other examples of "high profile/veteran" designers doing this in entertainment media? I can't think of any notable ones. This sounds like a great way to make some extra money. If something you designed was downloadable content (DLC/micro transaction) and you got 5% of the revenue from that car or whatever, that would be a lot of cheese.

Thanks Frank. I was lead car designer on this project, way back in 2006. All commenters should appreciate these cars were designed in 2006, and sometimes way before that (as some are from other Burnout games). Comparison with modern cars after that date means I was ahead of my time! My favourite is one I personally designed, the Watson R25 Racer and Frank guessed correctly that I do indeed have an Automotive Design education… Go get your education kids, it gives you the chance to do cool stuff like this.

I've been waiting for this one so much. Burnout's vehicles always felt well designed, not to crazy, quite realistic and cool. They could've went full GTA V and done some absolutely crazy cars when it comes to the graphics, but it seems like they decided to focus mostly on the shape and simple lines of the cars and only started doing the graphics after they were happy with the overall shape of the vehicles. Atleast that's how I feel about it, I didn't watch the video yet. I can't wait to hear Frank's opinions

the car at 5:21 actually has three more references (not sure if intentional), but the front headlights are based off Koenigsegg CCX/CCR, the front bumper (especially the middle vent design) is DEFINITELY based on an NSX, and the rear is based on a fictionalized version of a Noble M600.

Excellent review! I love how these cars look and sound. I also recommend you look at the cars in this game called Split/Second, as they have really cool designs as well!

Don't think I haven't noticed your nice bottles of whisky back there! What are your favorites? I personally think Lagavulin 16 and a bottle called Nikka From the Barrel are hard to beat, given reasonable budget.

Hey frank, I think theres absolutely a market to do a second part to this video, there are a lot more cars in this game. The Hunter Cavalry, Hunter Vegas, Carson Annihilator, Nakamura Si7, The hot rods, The buggy's, and so forth. Please consider doing a part 2 to this.

Saying a car would look better after a crash is kinda like saying to someone "you'd look better in a casket" lmao
