Great channel! You do a fantastic job explaining arches/insoles. Just picked these up based off your videos. First pair I returned because the arch support was too far back to my heel, and it just didn’t feel right. Picked up a bigger pair (13.5-15), and the arch support moved closer to where my actual arch is, and I trimmed down the excess at my toes. Breaking them in around the house now, I think they’re going to work out well (can’t return since I cut them anyway). Keep up the good work, you’re doing great!

I tried the black and blue Spenco Max insoles for running and I still kept getting painful posterior shin splints. I’ve had them since 2012 and I can’t seem to find insoles that help. Haven’t tried SuperFeet yet. Do you recommend these for someone like me? If these don’t work, what’s the next one I should try?

First: Get evaluated by a doctor to make certain it really is shin splints. There are a lot of differentials out there that can be dangerous. Second: If it really is shin splints then Superfeet Green with additional arch height might help. Watch this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWGaq4CDnbelmqs Third: For shin splints an excellent option is a custom insert. You may wish to research Sole Support orthotics. They are full contact and calibrated to your specifications.

Superfeet are amazing they have three different arch sizes you can customize it.. I used them from 30-40 years on all my boots/ running/ CrossFit shoes! Now at 42 I build a turf toe ( very common on runners)

Super feet’s work great for me. But, the most common cause of running injuries is picking up mileage too fast, and not taking enough rest days, especially in the beginning. I had problems for over a decade, and would always stop running after a couple of months, because I would get injured. If you are experienced I apologize, but if you are new to running start very slow with low mileage. The typical rule of thumb is to never increase your total weekly mileage by more that 10% per week. Also, invest in a foam roller, they work miracles if they are used correctly. Correctly is important though, used wrong, they can do more damage than good. After I made these changes I went from getting injured constantly to eventually running a marathon and a 50k. It took a long time to slowly build up my mileage to get there. That was my experience. Hope it helps.

Would you recommend these or Birkenstock tradition inserts for high arches?
@frugalfoot4973
@frugalfoot4973 2 ай бұрын
Cesar that is a great question. You really need to try on both and make that decision yourself. Individuals with high arches often times have trouble with otc inserts. If that is the case with you consider watching my video "My favorite foot orthotic" - it is in the playlist under orthotics - and then research Sole Supports. All the best.

Check through my playlist on arch supports. If that doesn't help then you might consider custom.

@@azucarweber2456 good luck -- I’ve had them for years and they cost 500.00 and only last 6 months --also they can only make them so thick because they won’t fit in your shoe --it amazes me why some company doesn’t come out with a high arch support that won’t give- check out some other videos on you tube about guys who make homemade arches from silicone caulking!

@@azucarweber2456 also they make cork arches that can be glued into your shoe that will not ever fail----I have them in 1 pair of my shoes but the company that install them was called "National Rehabilitation" but stopped making custom shoes---Im trying to find another place to buy them ----try a small town shoemaker--they have access to catalogs that we don't even know about---I don't know how they knew exactly where to place them in my boots put they are my most comfortable shoes ---the outsides are just getting too ragged---the ortho companies know about these of course but don't want to tell you because you wouldn't have to keep going back to them to replace the foam ones that wear out ---I am in the process of trying to find those cork ones---I called a local shoe cobbler that says he can get the cork ones easily---I just haven't visited him yet--I bought some "copper" brand from awl mart that have highest arches I have seen at retail store and they are firm and only cant 9.99 for the meantime ---another option is to use this type and put a hard material under the arch to prevent it from sagging ----there is another video on YOU Tube that show how to roll up a sock and put under your arch ---also the Frugal Shoe Doctor has an excellent video on using felt self-adhesive pads to build up that arch to prevent sagging from underneath it ---he even gives a link to the felt on Amazon

Very good. Higher doesn't always mean better especially if they are too rigid. Now go watch my video series on custom orthotics and all the pieces should fall into place.
