People just like to throw it around with no proof because people can't believe that Superman and Lois is actually that good. It just seems The CW gave them the same budget or slightly more for fewer episodes meaning more money per episode and they actually got a quality vfx company to do the cgi instead of the cheap one the other arrowverse shows use. Plus the showrunners were dedicated to having cinematic look. Going forward the CW are trying to make a co-financing deal with HBOMAX but that was after superman and lois was already filming and way into production.

This show's Clark Kent has what I can only describe as "Cool Neighbor Energy", and It feels *so right* in the context of a man returning to live in the small town he grew up in. He's that dork of a neighbor who fixes your grandma's TV for her, who you don't know that well, but he's nice, and his kids go to the same school as you, so you know their names and say hello when you pass by. And he also happens to be Superman, and adore how right that feels to someone who knows small towns. Those people just exist in that kind of community.

It was one of my very first forays into Superman-centric IP; I love me a Batman/Superman comic, love Sups as a part of a team, just never really got why he was so interesting until this show. It’s like you said, he’s not a god who was raised on a farm, he’s a farm boy with godlike powers. And his powers were/are as much a burden as they are a gift, and he has to constantly control himself. I used to kind of laugh at “Superman never gets ruffled lol, that’s so not realistic.” But when I watched this show I was like “oh snap Superman has perhaps the best self control of anyone on the planet, that’s why he doesn’t get ruffled. Because when Superman gets angry, or lets his temper get the better of him even a little bit, it straight-up terrifies everyone he cares about.” Because he can punch two worlds hard enough to separate them. That’s legit god-tier power.

This show greatly exceeded my expectations. Im a big Superman fan, and I never got into the CW shows except for Smallville. I tried Arrow and immediately didn't like it and The Flash was OK but not interesting enough for me to watch the entirety of Season 1. I heard this show was good and I believed them but I was thinking "good for a CW show". But I was wrong. Its just a plain great show that FINALLY gets Superman. After I saw some more positive perception on the Snyder films, I tried rewatching them with a fresh new perspective like all these other people did. And, with the exception of Snyder's JL, I still hated them. It really didn't capture what I love about Superman or Batman at all. Hell, even Snyder's JL was good because of the other characters NOT Superman or Batman. This Superman, the one in Superman & Lois, is just some kind dork who lived on a farm and that's great. I have some issues with this new Lois but I have to say, she's still a GOOD adaptation of Lois Lane which is a rare thing that I come across. My favourite versions of her will always be DCAU Lois (where she might be the best character in the entirity of S:TAS) followed by Smallville Lois but this version is way better than any of the big screen versions of her.

Please, please, please do a video about that scene in episode 2, season 3. Lois' confession on the rooftop is the best use of the superhero genre I've ever seen! In comics, on film, or in animation. Incredibly powerful and subtle at the same time. It is both a public declaration heard by the Judge and the attending police officers and yet at the same time a private conversation between Lois and Clark. Something that could really only be done with Superman or someone like him. It is amazing. Add to that, Lois is controlling the entire scene here: she has a suicidal Judge, trained law enforcement officers, and god-damn Superman in the background while her inner world is crumbling and she is still controlling and commanding the situation. That is the Lois Lane we deserve! I know this comment isn't relevant to the video above but I didn't know where else to post it. There is so much hype atm about James Gunn's new Superman but really Superman and Lois is setting a bar that's going to be almost impossible to top.

I've watched and rewatched this since you've posted, and really enjoy the Deconstruction section and the talk about each of the five "mini movies", and especially about episode 11. That was my favorite episode as well. I hope one day you'll talk about Jonathan losing himself in the transition away from urban life while Jordan finds himself, and Jonathan's 'quest' to re-discover who he is through the humans around him like his mom and John Henry. Jonathan has taken the spotlight off of Jordan as much as he could and now Jordan doesn't need his protection any more, but there Jonathan still is - trying to keep Jordan reigned in and keep him humbled while also propping him up and playing wingman. Very rarely is Jonathan the f*ck-up, but when he is, he REALLY is (mainly because you don't expect it of him). I mean, Jonathan never got to see the Fortress, and never got to meet his holographic grandpa, but he still stood toe-to-toe with his human one and called him a coward. I also LOVE how Lois & Clark argue and work with each other to make their marriage stronger. "I'm pissed off at you and I can't lose that anger because I have to go pick up Jordan from jail and scare the mess out of him" (paraphrased, obv.) I also liked how it showed how hard it is to make friends as adults, with Lois & Lana going out for drinks together to try to unwind but not knowing how to really talk outside of their shared realms of wife/mother roles, but then later they're both working together to figure out what Morgan's up to AND to ensure the safety of the town (Lois's and Lana's main goals respectively). Anyway, super-awesome analysis!

In the comics I know Clark and Lois have one son named Jonothon, there is no Jordan, but I suppose that’s fine. The importance of memories we have of our friends and family is evident in the show. I didn’t think I would like CW Superman(Tyler Hochlin), but he is quite good. Lois(Bitsy Tuloch) is excellent. I don’t know who the actors who play Jononthon and Jordan are, they are good too. Implicitly pretentious maybe you can analyze supergirl I mean it’s ending soon why not give it a send off I think it’s an underrated show very sweet and heartwarming and wholesome and whimsical

Not anymore. The Season 2 finale had a scene of Lois' father telling the kids how he saw glimpses of the multiverse and other heroes, and that in their universe, their father is the only superhero they have. All because of the Arrowverse' slowly death, and because of how they had to adapt to the changes caused by the pandemic (cancelled crossover with Batwoman, thankfully dodged that bullet xD, and omitted details like having a photo of Lois with Kara around the house, etc)
