Great job ... never too much Bench technique. Mark, you going after the 600 was very motivational. I had not benched 400 Raw in a meet since early 2104. After watching your 600 effort, I was inspired to get back and hit 410 at a meet in February (not bad for a 53 year old). Thanks for all you do with training videos, the Power Project, Power Magazine and the Sling Shot (all Master lifters should have one).

Thanks to videos like this and my SLINGSHOT my bench keeps going up. I jut hit a meet PR on my raw bench last weekend. I am 54 years old and got Raw 551 pounds on my bench easily at my last meet. 560 is next and eventually 600. I just started lifting at 51 and powerlifting at 52 so this is all exciting for me. Rock on and keep up the great videos.

Seriously, Mark, your channel is pumping out so much content that's more useful than 90% of the high priced things on the market. You are doing this for free, and it amazes me every time that you do it the way you do, You are helping a lot of people with your videos and I personally think it is just fair from us to give back to you to the best of our ability, which is sharing your videos and when looking for equipment to purchase it for you, since they are all awesome pieces, I have the blue Slingshot and the Camo Wraps myself :)
@stevenfoldy11738 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tips. This video is the only video I have been able to locate that is specific to the technique of the bench press. From an explanation of the hand grip to explaining the difference between benching with a wide grip and using a wide grip but tucking the elbows in, you provide a great visual of the proper bench. It si a great reminder for those of us who have lifted over 30 years of the basics and how anyone can stray off the path to a proper lift.

Naturally I'm short and slightly heavy but I'm a runner who doesn't want to look like a runner. I used to train as a powelftet and I still use that in my training today when I do gym work and not on the road. @josejimenez-gw5yl8 жыл бұрын
+Angel Amador its taken me about 4 months, at aroud 155 pounds body weight, but im happy to say that from a set of ten i did with 205 i think my max should be about 275, which is de not anything great but i really couldnt have done even this without the helpful videos these guys put out, oh and the slow mo deadlift tutorial helped me a ton as well,
@josejimenez-gw5yl8 жыл бұрын
+Angel Amador i also have to take into acount that diring the entire 4 months i was bulking cause i weighed about 142 so you know how when you get bigger strenght comes faster, but now the progress is kinda slowing down so once i stall, i think ill do an actual bench program written by someone as opposed to just doing what i feel is good.

Was gonna ask more about your thoughts on the negative phase's speed in bench, but i see Mr Lobliner is about my speed in the negative phase, i'm even bit slower i think. I've concluded it's my style to keep the package tight, and to protect specially my shoulders. Anyway, hope you would cover the bench press negative phase more in some future videos, you can get a good discussion about it for sure. Awesome bench video anyway, propably the best in tube i've seen. Thanks.

Ya, the Sling Shot is very cool indeed. It doesn't replace your regular hard sets. But what a great thing to help you on your last +1 set. It just feels great. Also when my shoulders really hurt and I can't seem to get 1 push up do to tightness or pain the Sling Shot can help you do like a million push ups and that is a nice warm up before bench.

I've out of the gym for 30 years, started back a couple years ago, but hurt my leg (work around that) hurt my back (work around that) hurt my shoulder (work around that) all from dumb bull shit... I've been back strong since Jan. My goal was to Squat 405 to 450 by the end of Aug. when I turn 70. I'm working on Dead-Lift 380 and Bench 275 (With Sling-Shot as of today)... Those wraps are Magic, There was No Fuc_in Way...
