I really appreciate this video. I hadn't tried this method on pompano and know I'll like it much better than filleting. This is going to be my 4th summer of salt life with the first 1 1/2 spent entirely on trout and red fish. Have expanded my species and fishing style to offshore and beach, changed some cooking ways, but these catch, clean, cook, eat are good vids for further learning.

After watching your video I headed over to the seafood market for Pompano. They didn't have Pompano so I bought Red Snapper instead. Talk about good! This will be my go to recipe for fish until I wear it out like I do everything. Love your videos. Saving up for an Alabama visit in the spring when the new fishing licenses renew.

Extra points for the Acoustic Blues Music Captain !! Perfect time of year for a Pompano Cratch and Cook review . That spoon scaler trick also works very well for removing the silver skin on babay back ribs.. when you "palm" the round end , and use the handle tip to separate the silver skin from the bone.

Yeah KZbin's guidelines don't like "fish juice" to be shown much. ! But it's pretty simple to slice down the belly, scrape everything out, then remove the entire gills out! Thank you for watching. I appreciate it.

This is such a great way to treat this fish, nothing wrong with a filet, but the fish has so much fat and cartilage that roasting whole releases this 'lotiony' sauce to eat with the muscle and crisp skin. People who don't like fish are usually converted with a good coal grilled Pompano....
