Hey queens, it's Susie here, your friendly neighbourhood lazy girl, and I'm diving headfirst into Andrew Huberman's science-based productivity routine. Ever wondered if the early bird really catches the worm? Or how to make sleep work its magic for you? I'm testing Huberman's tips on productivity, stress management, and even throwing in some cold exposure techniques for that extra energy boost. As a self-proclaimed lazy girl, I'm all about finding ways to make life easier. Does it all live up to the hype or is it just another trend? Join me for the ups and downs as I try it out, and together, we'll find out if it's worth a shot.
A portion of this video is sponsored by BiOptimizers and all opinions are of course my own.

I’d be super curious to see if his way is for the optimal performance for males vs optimal performance for females because I know women generally need more sleep and are more efficient at different temperatures. Many more examples and studies! Love Huberman!

I cant help but notice that this routine is very centred around a male physiology. The training, the no breakfast, the short sleep. All things that are generally functional for males but troublesome for females.

@@juliepaez3121science is biased. most studies are done in male bodies. society itself is done based in male bodies' physiology. it's not black and white like this. even one of Dr. Huberman's episode is with a female scientist that explains how science is very behind in understanding women physiology.

There's enough evidence on ADHDers needing food and caffeine at the beginning of the day for the brain and body to (somewhat) function. Intermittent fasting with no breakfast can also trigger a hormonal imbalance in women, especially women with ADHD, so your body knows that intuitively. ❤

For the yoga nidra: for feeling more well rested you have to do a longer session around 30-45 min. Then it starts feeling like you had more sleep. I would like to see a challenge where you try to do different relaxation methods like pmr or autogenic training for 30 min a day. Much love from germany ❤❤

For women with hormone imbalances or PCOS it’s the absolute worst. Personal experience yes it works for weight loss but after you gain it back and do it again it’s harder to lose then doing a 3 round is worse and insulin resistance becomes worse. The basic concept of IFing is good for everyone, don’t eat constantly every 2 hours so your insulin and blood sugars have time to lower rather than staying elevated all the time BUT for women fasting for long periods of times and working out fasted has been proven to higher cortisol!… which highers insulin and some female hormones etc which just is not great for the female cycle and long term worse weight issues as the female ages. Like I said I did IF for a long time but now that I’m older I can see the effects and am seeing dieticians to reverse the effect. The middle ground with IF and regular eating is good. Otherwise for females who do want to IF it’s actually for the female body better to eat within 45 mins of waking up and fast at night for the female cycle.

deep work is hard for me as well, which is why I use the pomodoro method. the smaller times makes me feel like I can manage it more, the breaks help remind me to stretch and get up and rest my eyes. really helps my executive dysfunction to say "well try for 25 mins"

I started doing the cold burst at the end of my hot shower a few years back and it really changed my life! Gets me ready for the day, and also stops me from zoning out and spending 15 extra minutes in the shower just because I like the comfort of the hot water hahaha
@hnichole
@hnichole 8 ай бұрын
I find it kind of interesting that Andrew's routine has the cold shower before the workout and not after! Because I also like cold bursts at the end of my hot showers, but I always take those showers AFTER I've done my workout. I did competition cheerleading for years, and coaches always told us after brutal practices to take cold showers to help the soreness the next day - which in my experience it actually does! So I wonder if Andrew's purpose for the cold shower is more so just to help wake up *before* working out, as opposed to mitigating the soreness afterwards. I guess we all just have to find what helps each of us best.

I wonder what it would be like if you worked with your natural inclined routine? Like, Dr Mike did an interview with a sleep expert who said some people don't align with society's 9-5 routine and that they work better in the night (for example). What would happen if you worked with your body and listened to it instead? Genuine curiosity and going with your authenticity would be 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

I’m a 3rd shifter. Midnight to 8am. I sleep well during the day. I’m childfree, so I really get to listen to my body. I sleep when I’m tired and don’t typically struggle to stay awake during the night. The only weird thing is I do feel more rested when I sleep at night. Idk what that means 😂 it might be just in my head. My father always preferred to be awake a night. I’m convinced my bloodline were the people who guarded the caves during the dark hours.

I have seen others talk about adhd people in the morning and a lot of them say that they preform better when they have a high protein and caloric intake- because it’s true when we take our meds we don’t focus on food anymore. But meds tip! You can actually increase your productivity on when and what you take them with! Foods high in vitamin c actually will stop your body from being able to uptake the meds properly - so avoiding vitamin c for 2hrs before or after you take meds could potentially increase your productivity!!

I love that the second she mentions the shower I am like "this just sounds like 1 torture after the next tbh" and she continues "that's his personal morning torture routine" x'D

I definitely believe getting morning sun helps circadian rhythm. I work from home 1-9pm and the days i dont go for a morning run i find myself wide awake until 1am. When i do go out n run or walk im yawing by 9-10pm.

Just a reminder that sauna is done typically by going into the hot sauna first then rapidly cooling down the body with the plunge and repeating it a couple times

My fiancés dad has a cold tub at home to do cold exposure and I've tried it, it's a super cool thing and I like it a lot! It causes your body to pump a lot of endorphins to help ease the stress/pain of being so cold, so when you get out those hormones are still going and you feel really good. I think there's also a lot of other benefits like for your cardiovascular health and stuff like that, but it's super good especially after a hard workout! :)
