Yes he does have massive compensation. I imagine he's made more than $5 billion off SW, and maybe $1 billion (500 million more probably) off Indy. Still I bet he is still hurting. In my life I have only ever read one Star Wars book (which I guess is not canon anymore because it took place after Return of the Jedi and I read it in the 80;s). I never needed any book to understand what was going on in the original trilogy or prequel trilogy. Casual fans do not read books. Watch the video "Treasure Planet - Disney's Biggest Mistake" (ironically, since they documentary came out, Star Wars is now their biggest mistake). It was the most expensive animated film to date (2002) and still in the top 10 most expensive animated films, adjusted for inflation. They had an animated series planned. Merch planned. Kylo Ren was supposed to be the main villain after Snoke was defeated but he was given a softer character. At the start of the trilogy Kylo Ren kills his father and at TLJ he doesn't kill his mother, Rian Johnson went as far to make sure Kylo Ren did not kill his mother even if the plot was for him to do so.

Lightsabre fights were admittedly poor but filmmaking and fight choreography have improved dramatically since then yet none of the fights in this trilogy surpass that of Luke vs Vader from decades ago. Arguably they are worse. At the same time however people complained about fights in the prequels looking more like a dance which I personally find ridiculous as the fight choreography in the prequels was exceptional in my opinion.

@Jennifer Olughor Finn's arc was a joke. Kylo's arc was laughable. Luke's arc was a disgrace. As for the OT lightsaber battles, Kenobi was a geriatric Jedi that couldn't flip and flop around like he used to, fighting a torso in a robot suit (Rogue One's Vader is apocryphal, even if the rest of the film was decent), so how can you expect the battles to be like the Duel of the Fates in TPM, or the final fight scenes in AotC? I like how another person described the sequel lightsaber battles as "children swinging shovels around pretending to swordfight." Whoever they got for the sequels to choreograph the lightsaber scenes should have been fired. And that switchblade lightsaber was a TOTAL joke.

I feel bad for people who live off childhood nostalgia with rose tinted glasses. This ended it well and we can move on to much more interesting stories. I'm tired of seeing "rebel vs Empire" nonsense...yes NONSENSE! I want more stuff like The Mandalorian that delves deeper into various lore with less lightsaber and more "everyman with a gun" while treating the Jedi as "mythical wizards who can move things with their mind". The force is cool and all but Star Wars is so much more than that...fanboys just can't see past the lightsabers.

The Sith were known before though. Their language is to the Star Wars Universe like... Egyptian Hieroglyphics are to us. I'm guessing 3PO had a bog standard Service Droid chip that had all the languages pre-programmed, along with the Sith Language. That being said, what I'm more annoyed at is: Why couldn't he just type in where they had to go? Like... If you KNOW what was written on it, you can go where they need to go. Just interpret what you have in your memory banks, put in the coördinates and fly off.

I'd say he had a software update, but since he's not even capable of having a simple back-up done I wonder how much these droids are supposed to be computers.
