People cant escape the plastics anyway, it's in the damn tap water as well as the water you'll be drinking out of the glasses as well. The only issue I think is best to avoid is storing water in plastic for a long time (many months) before consuming. That's when you need to worry about chemicals leaching into the water etc. Especially if it's in sunlight.
