@@radhikasingh4011 For me it’s my armpits. As soon as I see sun, I am sweating. What helped with easing it was taking Vitamin B with Calcium, it helps calm my nerves. Getting anxious about sweating is one of the main reasons why you sweat more, because you hate it and that ultimately leads to anxiety. Another suggestion, that I have yet to try- I don’t know the name, but there is this device in which you have to merge your hands in the water contained in its bed and it sends small bursts of electric shock. Mind you, it is pricey and you need to use it regularly, but for some it cured the problem entirely, so might be worth a shot.

I heard some male idols put sanitary pads on his clothes around underarm areas to avoid sweaty armpit during shows because they do a lot of dancing (place them inside the clothes, obviously). It makes some sense to me because sanitary pad is soft to skin, tremendously absorbance, and includes materials that prevent odor. It also works with soldier boots when on duty in hot areas too. 😅

Layering up is still a necessity even in high heat - if I don’t wear an undershirt (not a wifebeater as that doesn’t cover my armpits, so a full cotton t-shirt), I might be a little cooler but the sweat goes directly to my outer shirt. As long as I wear an undershirt I might sweat a little more but the shirt absorbs most of the moisture and prevents pit stains and other sweat marks on my outer shirt.

Be aware, with white tops (or light colors in general) ~ you WILL stain them yellow/gray (esp linen) from your sweat. Be prepared to bleach them here and there. Synthetics dont usually hold up well to bleach unfortunately :/ You can also apply an extra strength antiperspirant THEN reapply with deodorant as you are in public gettin sweaty. Choose styles that allow you to breathe in sweaty areas or size up 1 ~ you can also wear a breatheable cotton undershirt to absorb sweat and prevent nicer dress shirts from getting stained/smelly.

If youre a REALLY sweaty person like I am, I heavily dont recommend wearing white. For small drops of sweat, its fine. But if youre like me, it becomes super obvious after a while. For me, I just wear an undershirt (preferably a plain white tshirt with short or no sleeves and a very wide neck hole, so that it doesnt look obvious youre wearing two shirts). If you cant stop yourself from sweating, might as well make it less obvious and more comfortable (undershirt gets sweaty, outershirt stays clean)

Tip 1. Cancel and don't go if possible, unless you know you really want to, it sounds like you will have a stressful time, I'd cancel. Tip 2. If you absolutely must go, don't go dressed with the top you're going to wear. Take it with you and change in the bathroom, I always did that during the hottest summer days to avoid visible perspiration stains and I barely sweat. Choose a very simple, classical top, it's a must to have a spare one to change mid-event if needed. If they are identical no one will know.

If you're attending an event where you mustn't sweat a lot, try anti-perspirants. It blocks your pores under your arms, neck, etc. so sweat won't come out. But only use anti-perspirant sparingly and don't use it everyday. You could risk overheating and passing out or having a heat stroke. Sweating is the body's natural way of cooling down and preventing from overheating.

Jepp. Modern microfiber synthetics are a marvel. There's a reason, sportswear is made from that stuff and not natural fibers. Well, ok, it also just holds up to washing much better, keeps it shape, stays brightly colored and so on. Just beware of regular and especially cheap synthetic clothing. Because wearing an H&M polyester blouse (or shirt) will not make you happy, out in the sun. It has to be sportswear, pretty much. I've never tried wearing a sweat wicking synthetic undershirt under a regular polyester garment, though, so I can't speak to that. Gotta try that, just to see, if it works.

@@hashtagmate the white staining/markings that often show up on black clothing from intense sweating is a higher concentration of salt in the persons sweat. Often common among people doing intense physical activity but in general it’s overall common to see as it’s a stark contrast. Certain fabrics and blends will trap the salt residue build up deeper into the fibers making it harder to get out during washing. It’s has nothing to do with deodorant or antiperspirants. Those create a different type of white marking on the underarms and only certain types of deodorants even do that. Common examples are on the back of shirts, especially if someone is wear a backpack causing even more back sweat, collar area, underarms extending further down the sides of the body and interior of the tricep area (which typically don’t get deodorant put all the way that far anyways). For anyone with built up sweat stain problems on black clothing try pre wetting item with warm water, spraying the affected area with hydrogen peroxide and gently scrub with a soft bristle brush, follow up with a drop or two of soap and let it sit for a few then rinse. For more intense set in stains instead of rinsing after sprinkle baking soda and scrub area again then spray white distilled vinegar and let it sit for 15-30 min and then rinse and see where you’re at. Cottons and cotton blends tend to really hold onto that salty sweat residue build up and it won’t just come out in a wash on its own so it ends up building up overtime until the person finally notices a drastic color change in their clothes or a fading white cast stain technically. If you’re gonna wear black and anticipate intense sweating look for performance fabrics that are wicking and breathable. They’re lightweight and sweat stains easily come out as the fabrics are treated to repel moisture and certain substances. Most high quality performance fabrics are often anti-stink and anti-microbial tech built in (think what hikers and outdoors performance wear needs are and often why it can get very pricey). There are companies that make men’s dress wear in athletic or performance fabrics now. I cannot remember any brands off the top of my head but you can search through Amazon and google with things like Mens performance dress shirts sweat wicking button up collared shirts performance active fabric dress pants etc. my husband sweats easily and a lot, he’s a weightlifter and firefighter and all his clothes involve lotsa sweat, it’s taken years to slowly guide him into the right types of fabrics for his lifestyle and activities as well as the right cuts for muscular athletic builds but overall so much better. Also we live in Florida so that’s a fun extra sweat bonus.

I find Linen is superior to cotton, but even a fabric that is a blend of Linen & cotton is better than 100% cotton... And I am a person who can break a sweat in below zero temperatures without even wearing the appropriate winter weather apparel. 💁🏼‍♂️ Yes, I actually give off enough heat that I can walk barefoot in the snow, with little effort. Half the time I wonder if I have a fever when I exercise, as my skin gets hot enough that if I run cold water over myself, that it'll be nearly room temperature afterwards. 😅

I have hyperhydrosis, and let me tell you, its not only weather that can make me sweat a lot. Stress, anxiety, and even just by thinking, or doing something minimal can make my scalp, back, and chest to sweat a lot. And having obvious sweat marks on my clothes make me sweat more, so my advise is to wear dry fit clothes anywhere and anytime if you’re outside.

You can buy a cotton or linen suit but if it’s lined with synthetic or non breathable fabrics it doesn’t matter what the rest of the garment is made of. Most suits using natural fibres are still lined with polyester or a poly blend thereby rendering the breathable aspects of the linen or cotton useless. Wool is also a very breathable fabric so I don’t know why you’ve told people to steer clear of wool. Although yes cotton and linen are more lightweight for summer, wool isn’t a bad option. I’d also personally be looking to ensure the lining is breathable fabric (eg: bemberg) and that the suit is half lined. I’d also be sticking away from darker colours if possible if you want to reduce heat as much as possible. At the end of the day if it’s a hot day you’re going to be hot. What you want to aim for is an outfit that doesn’t hold the moisture (aka sweat) in. You want an outfit that will dissipate the sweat and also not show sweat patches.

linen and cotton are not more breathable than wool or polyfabrics, they are just colder in the summer/warm you less, so they will make you sweat at a later point. but cotton has a hard time drying when wet. a thin merino wool shirt would be ideal or a mixed fabric that is not entirely made of cotton. the problem with a lot of artificial fabric clothes is that they are too dense in structure. they can actually be very breathable, hence they dominate the athletic sector. usually a mix of cotton and artificial fabrics will have better breathability and moisture wicking properties than straight up cotton. i recommend uniqlo for moisture wicking, anti sweat basics that don't break the bank.

If you’re sweaty then I suggest getting a quick wick base layer that is synthetic. They distribute moister quickly. Check out the sheer base for running or cycling. Also wear metal bracelets, necklace. They help you rid heat faster. Finally, if you visit your outdoor sports they have these neck piece that you can use water to keep you cool. With all this said your kinda screwed if the humidity is 80%+ no matter what you do. If that is the case invest in a chain mail base. They’re not cheap but they’ll keep you cooler.

Gold Bond powder on where you sweat (underarms, small of back, back of neck and knees, etc) or where you don't want your clothes to be wet. Probably just for special occasions though.

Hot tip (pun intended) for people struggling with underarm stains: clothes with penguin sleeves/dropped sleeves. Leaves the armpits free and airy without touching any fabric they can stain.

Idk what penguin sleeves are but I love VERY short sleeve with an open hole for the armpits so armpits aren't covered but my fat arms look a little better than in sleeveless shirts. A bit of the arm is covered on top.

To my fellow sweaty people; INVEST IN A GOOD ANTIPERSPIRANT! I've used CertainDri, following the directions to the letter, and it is truly a life changer. Then, I use an antiperspirant/deodorant combo once I am dried off out of the shower/bath - personally, I use Old Spice Lavender, the solid, white, stick kind. I'm a lady, but I really like the smell lol, and I've found that it lasts better than antiperspirant/deodorants marketed towards women, that I've used in the past like Dove, etc.

Yeah, cotton is the worst fabric for sweating in. It absorbs obscene amounts of moisture, takes ages to dry and is a perfect incubator for bacteria that lead to the typical sweaty smell.

Ngl as a person who sweats even on an air conditioned room, layering SURPRISINGLY helps a bit. Maybe not use a jacket but those denim ones help. They not only hide the sweat but also keeps your already sweaty body, cool kinda like how a cooler works. Also helps with the sun. Shit, while youre at it, just wear the denim jacket as is, no undershirt whatsoever. the sweat barely show and extra protection from the sun. Id suggest cotton But it is super annoying and irritating tho.

On the other hand, wool is odor resistant. For me the odor is the worst problem and if I've gotten sweaty/smelly in a cotton shirt, it will get smelly every time I use it, despite washing myself and the shirt.
