Sweet And Sour Pork SO Tender And Delicious Better Than Takeout, Aunty Mary Cooks. This is a very popular Chinese restaurant dish This very tender pork in sweet and sour sauce is one that you would want to cook often and it is even very welcoming in any family get-together or with friends. Aunty Mary shows how to cook this easy recipe of tender sweet and sour pork, Chinese cooking, at home.
Ingredients
700g pork shoulder steaks, pound and cut into bite-size pieces
2 medium onions, peel and cut into wedges
1 can (435g) pineapple chunks, reserve juice
1 red pepper, cut into wedges
1 green pepper, cut into wedges
1/2 bulb garlic, peel and chop
6 Tbsp cornstarch to coat the pork before frying
Oil for frying
Marinade for Pork
1 tsp baking soda
2 Tbsp soy sauce
2 egg yolks
3 Tbsp corn starch
Seasoning Sauce
4 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp vinegar
1 Tbsp corn starch
6 Tbsp tomato ketchup
1C liquid (pineapple juice from above + water)
Note:
1. If you like the meat to be crispy, fry it longer
2. You can use other meat like chicken or fish
3. You can adjust the seasoning if preferred
