OMG made this with regular carnation powdered milk...and added four drops of organic almond extract, followed your directions to the T. I wll tell you Deb this tastes the same as buying the expensive cans, I added some to my morning coffee. This is ssoooooodelicious thanks for the tips and this recipe.

I tried one once that had a tablespoon of margarine in it. I found it to work fine also. I like this one wwithout the butter for the shelf life. Instant milk is found at almost all large grocery stores. Its the just dry milk thats hard to find. Hope this helps and thank you.

realise this is old now but I used instand powder milk (UK) and I think I can use 2 or maybe 3 cups as 4 was a little on the thick side. so I might need to let it down with a little (hot) water when I use it.

Wonderful recipe. I'm not buying it anymore. saving some money here. LOVE IT thank you I have to admit now I'm curious. If i put a can of sweet condense milk in a pan of water and boil it for 3 ?4 hours, I get a carmel. I wonder if I were to put this milk in half pints and under water would it work the same. interesting thought

Great video! Thanks. What about Nido dry whole milk powder? I'm assuming it's "instant" since I can drink it immediately after mixing. So, I would use 4 cups instead of two, right? I'm assuming the other kind of powdered milk you use has to be allowed to stand for a while before drinking. Is that correct?
@LCQueen20086 жыл бұрын
Caroline Honse Yes once it's instant dry milk powder, then you're using 4 cups of the milk

I believe its not fluffed with air. The real difference is when you mix it. Instant can be used right away. LDS milk needs to be real cold. Its great but stronger. I add a teaspoon of vanilla in a gallon and a teaspoon of powdered sugar and its fabulous. LDS milk can be used to make cheese also which is mainly what I use it for besides baking as we are not big milk drinkers. Thanks for asking.

Is there a different formula for using the 4 cups instant powdered milk instead of the 2 cups you used. I did add 1/2 cup more water when blending because it was way too think. Next time I'll add 1 cup of water to blender.
