Level Echoes Efficiently! Substat Odds Revealed in Wuthering Waves

For those wondering how much potential double CRIT pieces you are losing out on by only upgrading to +5, +10, etc, I simulated upgrading 1,000,000 echoes assuming there was equal chance of getting each TYPE of substat, and here's what I found: - around 12.8% of the pieces had BOTH CR and CD - if you trash echos after +5 that don't roll crit, you lose ~60% of potential double crit pieces (5.2% chance for double crit) - if you trash echoes after +10 that don't roll crit, you lose ~30% of potential double crit pieces (9% chance for double crit) - if you trash echoes after +15 that don't roll crit, you lose ~10% of potential double crit pieces (11.5% chance for double crit) - if you always level to +20 you won't ever miss out on potential double crit pieces, but it requires a lot more resources In general though, because there are other useful substats in this game besides crit, such as ER, ATK%, flat ATK, bonus dmg%, etc, as long as you don't roll HP or DEF on the first few rolls I think you can level up your echoes to +15 or +20.

Also 1-15 is the same exp needed to lvl 15-20. When i was lvling echoes 20 violet exp to 1-15 and also 20 for 15-20

@@zrevi5918 yes its the same exponential system as star rail. relics 1-12 cost about the same as 12-15. same thing with character XP, 1-70 costs as much as 70-80

one thing to consider for F2P is do not copy yet the CCs rerolling for substats, Upgrade and use the echoes with right Mainstats even if bad substats. With the limited resources do no be picky YET, or you'll lose some percentage of your upgrade mats by rerolling substats at this point. reroll if you already upgraded enough echoes.

This is not that good of advice. The main stat difference is so low at the higher levels. You should be leveling echos for subs. They are the actual difference maker for echos. Not the like 3% main stat upgrade.

Save resources and use a budget build until you reach a wall where you actually need more power, then start looking for replacement pieces 1 by 1.

You made the prime point that I keep telling people; We're still early in the game, don't overly stress about finding the absolute perfect echoes or running out of exp for them. As World Level goes up, you'll get more exp and echoes can be farmed endlessly. Also content is pretty easy right now (gets harder later). Good video!

Thanks for the video! This is very consistent with what I've observed in game, and the tip about energy regen pieces in particular is very valuable. Be sure to lock these on pretty much any set because if it's not useful immediately, they will be at some point and they are not easy to get. Also, excellent advice at the end of the video. At the end of the day, echoes are mostly a means to an end, so if it's frustrating players now, it's ok to wait a bit, build some union exp with dailies, and get back into it when the resource flow and drop chances are more favorable

I just realized sth. Imo, for the people that grind a ton, like myself, I think we should use all our waveplates to get the Union exp and level to level 40. We could farm the echos from the world and get access to the highest probability for the golden echos.

Cost 3 and cost 4 depends on how many you have, some people have a lot of options, others only have 1 or 2 in which case you probably just upgrade those 1 or 2 to +20 and use them for now, and in the future when you get more you can be more picky and upgrade new ones to only +10 or +15 to see if it's better than your current ones.

@joshuaradloff1070 The best use I found for mismatched echos is to use them as your free slot. We are allowed 5 echos, so utilize 2 2 piece bonuses and the extra 5th slot you slot in the off echo. I use this strategy when making a "for now" echo set up while I'm farming for a full set with stats I'm after. Helps make the most of what you have. People sleep on the ATK sonata set but is incredibly useful for your dps while you're working on ideal sets. 2piece whatever element your resonator needs with the 2 piece ATK set is a viable option to clear content while you farm for a full set. Hope this helps anyone in need. May RNJesus bless you all in your tuning. Happy hunting!

Thank you for the info. It really helps. Also, people need to understand that this game gives you an overall lower crit value across all your echo configuration compared to Genshin and HSR. So people need to chill if they dont get perfect crit stats.
