SWFL Eagles_ Breakfast At Old Nest ~E15 Is Seen In New Nest ~H & M Keep Building 11-02-20

H & M were busy again this morning gathering sticks, grasses and greenery for the new nest. E15 flew over to a snag by the new nest to watch and one adult perched nearby while the other adult perched at the new nest. All three left and E15 was seen flying from the new nest at 08:03:40 - just minutes before M15 flew to the old nest with roadkill with Harriet and E15 following him in. Harriet claimed the food but E15 stole it. H & M returned to the west pasture and added some big sticks to the new nest. E15 is 216 days old today.

I believe that the new nest is for Harriet and M 15 to start their new family. E15 only knows the nest he’s at. You couldn’t pry him out of there if you tried. Ha! It was good to see them all flying around , they look very healthy🦅🦅🦅

This is a miraculous season, and as such is a learning process for M15, Harriet and viewers. We must Trust the Eagles, and the miracle Giver. We are so blessed to share in E15’s process, and when she is gone there will not be an eye without tears worldover. Thank you so much Vicky for your dedication.

@@cherylsals4162 USFWS guidelines do not allow any disturbance near nesting eagles/active nests in FL from 10/1-5/15. So the cams cannot be moved or new ones installed this season.

It is such a blessing that we are able to watch E15. If H&M didn't want E15 around they would have chased him/her away by now. I enjoy watching all the new things we have not known about eagles. It is nature at it's best. Thank you Vicki for your beautiful video . The blue moon was awesome .

Thanks for another great vid showing what cannot be seen via LIVE Cam! Amazing capture of M15 & Harriet gliding and flying back and forth with sticks to the New Nest! E15 keeping an Eagle eye watch on her Parents activities..Lol. Harriet was standing in the main Nest late last night for a long time. Not laying in it, but standing in it like she does every normal year before she lays eggs. Later today, Harriet also hanging at the Main Nest today for a bit. Seems they would prefer to use Main Nest, but this year so different so we will have to stay tuned.

Dang, now E15 is allowed at the new nest, I thought for sure it would not be allowed over there so if they have their babies there, it would be run off as an intruder. What does that now mean for any food brought there for babies? E15 instincts are to grab any and all food around.

Agreed...I'm one of the ones who doesn't want to see E15 go, but I felt bad for Harriet the other night, looking for nestovers in the old nest and only getting some scraps here and there.

E15's parents have made an obvious decision NOT to chase E15 out of their territory. They could do this very easily if they wanted but they choose not to. It appears to me they do not mind having her stick around. Maybe they want E15 to hang close for some reason. All is good right now. I completely trust the eagles & feel they know what they're doing!

Cr Kwon, I did leave before 1:00pm. My video shows E15 in the attic and then "slipping"/half turning and then dropping down to the nest. I don't know who else's video you are referring to but if you look at the timestamp from the live cam feed in that other video, it was morning when that happened. H & M did not bring any sticks to the old main nest this morning, but both were seen moving sticks and aerating (pulling up and moving around old nest material) in the old main nest at dusk last night.

Ann 4 Leo, no one knows the actual reason for building a new nest. It may be partly because E15 was always appearing, hoping for food when the adults started bringing sticks and interrupted their rebuilding at the old nest. Only the eagles know why they are building another nest. Many eagle pairs have more than one nest built in their territory but use only one for laying eggs.

Vicki, is there any reason to suspect that E15 has some sort of disability or disease, and that's why we have a 216-day old eaglet that M and D are still caring for? I guess I'm asking if there's any history of such a thing? Or does a perfectly healthy youngin' just hang out longer (much longer) than the norm?

25centsworth, E15 is healthy, strong and smart. There are juveniles that do not leave their natal area, but it is not thought to be a common occurrence.

Mary Ann Hubbert, E15 will have had their first molt and probably would be hard to identify. H & M are tolerant of juveniles in non-nesting season but they would not feed E15 anymore.

No tengo una espectativa positiva con E 15 dando vueltas por el nuevo nido y siempre los padres dándole de comer, cuando nazcan los nuevos bebés, E15 lo va a interpretar como que son comida y como intrusos. Ojalá me equivoque, pero como veo que ella no se va a ir las cosas no van a terminar bien en la nueva temporada. Lady Hawk, it sure is looking like we are going to have to rely on you and your video's if M15 and Harriet uses the new nest. I worry about new eaglets getting caught up in that electric line when they began to fly. I really, really hope that the couple will move back to the old nest. E15 I'm afraid is going to be a problem which ever nest the eggs are laid in.

The electric/utility lines are are on the driveway to the office and are actually closer to the original nest tree than the new nest. Lady Hawk and I, Wskrsnwings, are two different people. Lady Hawk does videos from her home capturing the live cam feed without narrative. I do live videos from the nest area with narrative.
