As someone who used the xl2566k for a couple of years - DYAC needs FPS = HZ to give you the full motion clarity. So if your FPS fluctuates you will see more double images and artifacts(strobe crosstalk) with DYAC on. Therefore I think the OLED clears TN regardless of backlight strobing

I’ve been using this monitor since February and absolutely love it. In these 8 months I’ve basically had zero issues. There was one time where it was doing a pixel refresh while I got a Windows update and apparently it kinda got stuck but simply turning it off and on again fixed it. Also I had the same experience like you said with sneezing or coughing which can create these grey spots. I’m very careful when it comes to my stuff so always sneeze or cough away from my desk. Because of that there was only one single grey spot which I thought was a dead pixel which scared me, but I could simply wipe it off. Regarding the colors I totally agree. It’s much better than TN or IPS (which was my previous monitor), but definitely not life changing. The same goes for the 360Hz. It’s definitely smoother (upgraded from 165Hz), but not as big of a difference as going from 60 tot 144 for example. It’s nice to have but I think 144 is more than enough for a game like Valorant unless you really want to be the best of the best. I still use my previous monitor as a second screen and side to side you definitely notice the better colors. I feel like the upgrade to the OLED is a simple case of “it’s not a huge difference, but once you get used to it you simply can’t go back”. Upgraded to the OLED won’t make you instantly climb 4 ranks for example, but it definitely makes it easier and a more enjoyable experience.

Great review video and side facts but I wanna encourage people to not be so focused on their setups if they cant effort to upgrade. I hit immo3 on an old ass 144hz benq, without a mousepad or using an armsleeve and dont feel like my setup held me back. Sure switching to at least 240hz and finally getting a mousepad would make a huge difference but you should always try to make the best out of what you have. So dont feel pressured to think you need all of this insanely expensive equipment just to reach a certain rank. If you are good enough you will hit it without that and having it is only a bonus which will make it slightly easier. Why are you capping your fps to 400 though if your pc is clearly capable to dish out more? Capping fps does increase input latency more or less noticable from my experience and from what I read online. Would be glad to know if I am missing something in that regard
@JaekyАй бұрын
400 FPS is more than enough to the point where input latency is negligible. I do it for stability and consistency to reduce spikes and dips. I also cap it so that my computer isn’t overworked which reduces heat and power consumption. Also, some game engines and network infrastructures perform better when FPS is capped. In Valorant, for example, uncapped FPS can sometimes cause desync issues or put unnecessary stress on your system and network resources, leading to slight performance drops or inconsistent play.
@Marimoto1Ай бұрын
@@Jaeky Appreciate it, I definitely gonna try it out in real comp scenarios! From what I can tell is that capping fps in val does increase the total frame time by ~1ms but if it really reduces spikes and improves consistency in stability then capping fps is maybe viable.
